Trump Border Czar Tom Homan took the Catholic Church to task for inserting itself into American politics after it released a uniform message condemning the administration’s stance on border security and the deportation of illegal aliens. Tom Homan was specifically asked to dissect the woke conference of American Catholic Bishops when they said countries should be allowed to secure their borders but that mass deportations are inhumane.
“So the message, if you cross the border illegally, which is a crime, don’t worry about it if you get ordered removed by a federal judge after due process, don’t worry about it, because there shouldn’t be mass deportations,” Homan snapped, pointing out the obvious flaw in reasoning from the USCCB.
“Is that the message we send the whole world? People are still putting themselves in harm. They’re gonna spend their life savings against their criminal cartel. We saw during the Biden administration, when there was no immigration enforcement. Over 4000 aliens died…A quarter million Americans died of fentanyl.
Homan then called out the Catholic Church, which has a gigantic fortress and carefully monitors who enters its own nation-state in Vatican City, for failing to be honest about what it wants, secure borders or not secure borders. “I wish the Catholic Church can understand that we have the right to secure our borders. That gather rights to secure their facilities, the penalties entering their facilities are much worse than ours. So you know, we’re going to enforce you along.”
Homan then correctly observed that strong enforcement of a border and monitoring who stays in the country ultimately saves lives. “By doing that, we’re saving a lot of lives. Secure border saves lives, and no one reasons, no one talks about where we have the most secure border the history of this nation is because exactly what ISIS did, ISIS sent a message to the whole world, don’t give your life saved to come to the country, because you’re not going to be released, not to cross border…”
“I’m sorry. I’m a lifelong Catholic. I’m not only as the border czar. I’ll say it as a Catholic. I think they need to spend time fixing the Catholic Church,” he finished, saying the woke Pope should focus on its own issues instead of sticking its nose in the business of the greatest country, beleaguered by an immigrant invasion, in the world.
Watch Homan sound off below:
Homan’s comments came as the USCCB released a wild statement condemning President Donald Trump for removing aliens. Sitting on the fence, as Homan mentioned, they conceded a nation has a right to secure its border but also complained that deportations were cruel and inhumane. They don’t acknowledge that deportations will necessarily require use of force save for the illegals that opt to self-deport.
“We are disturbed when we see among our people a climate of fear and anxiety around questions of profiling and immigration enforcement,” the statement reads in part, continuing, “We are saddened by the state of contemporary debate and the vilification of immigrants. We are concerned about the conditions in detention centers and the lack of access to pastoral care.
It went on: “We lament that some immigrants in the United States have arbitrarily lost their legal status. We are troubled by threats against the sanctity of houses of worship and the special nature of hospitals and schools. We are grieved when we meet parents who fear being detained when taking their children to school and when we try to console family members who have already been separated from their loved ones.”
“Catholic teaching exhorts nations to recognize the fundamental dignity of all persons, including immigrants. We bishops advocate for a meaningful reform of our nation’s immigration laws and procedures. Human dignity and national security are not in conflict. Both are possible if people of good will work together.”
