Pastor John MacArthur of Grace Community Church recently criticized the Biden administration for promoting immoral values that are at odds with biblical values. According to MacArthur, America could incur divine judgment over the consequences of promoting morals that contradict the word of God. The prominent Christian pastor made the remarks during an exclusive interview with Breitbart News Daily.
MacArthur warned the outlet that America, the United States, was headed down the wrong path, explaining that when a society “turns to sexual immorality, homosexual immorality, and a reprobate mind, God gives them up.” The pastor claimed that Biden epitomizes all that is wrong with the current state of American society.
“There’s a sense in which God takes His hand of blessing off that society. When He gives them up, it means he gives them up to the consequences of their choices. If you follow that pattern, what you get is Joe Biden, who is the epitome of all those things that I just talked about,” he said, while suggesting that immoral behavior is running “rampant in his [Biden’s] own family at an epic level.”
MacArthur then called out the sexual agenda that the left has embraced, which contradicts the direct teachings of the Bible. “That’s part of it. And then advocating for homosexuality and then saying he supports all the transgender nonsense. He is what you get when you go down the Romans [chapter] one path because this is, in itself, is a kind of divine judgment,” he added.
The Grace Community Church leader noted that the only way to reverse the course the nation is headed down is to turn to the Word of God and bring the Gospel back into mainstream culture. “Is there a way back? There is a way back if we return to the Word of God, if we proclaim the Gospel, if people turn to Christ — you can’t change a culture any other way than to change hearts, change hearts from the inside out, and that’s where the church has to step in,” he stated.
The prominent Christian figure also criticized the decline of the church in American life, which he said has “miserably failed” its duties. “I have to say the church has miserably failed. The church has worked so hard to look and sound like what people outside the church want that it’s lost its impact,” he said, questioning, “Where is the church confronting the culture?”
MacArthur weighed in on the upcoming election, stating the obvious choice for a Christian voter is to support Donald Trump since many of the values on the left so obviously contradict the teachings of Christ. However, he maintained that Trump is not a solution to the societal decay, as there needs to be a deeper spiritual alignment in the cultural fabric of the nation.
“And, you know, I think if God allows that to happen, that Trump becomes president, you can say that the Lord has kind of put the brakes on a little bit, but the train is moving so fast down the direction of having been abandoned by God that unless there’s a huge spiritual turnaround, there’s no way to stop this,” he said, urging Christians to step up to their holy calling.
