Governor of Arkansas and former White House Press Secretary under the Trump Administration, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, recently said that it was God alone who saved Donald Trump from dying at the hands of the attempted assassin at the Butler, Pennsylvania rally on Saturday evening.
The bullet that grazed the Republican presidential nominee’s ear was just millimeters away from striking him in the skull, which would have almost certainly been a fatal shot. Trump had miraculously turned his head at the perfect moment to miss the bullet from landing the headshot, leading many to believe it was a divine act of God that saved Trump.
During her speech at the Republican National Committee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Huckabee Sanders echoed this sentiment. “Good evening. I’m Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and before I get started, I want to say, I have always been proud to stand with President Trump, but never have I been more proud than to stand with him right now tonight,” the Republican governor opened her speech.
“Not even an assassin’s bullet could stop him,” she continued. “God Almighty intervened, because America is one nation under God, and He is certainly not finished With President Trump.” The governor spent the remainder of her speech explaining why former President Trump is the leader that the United States needs in the White House.
Huckabee Sander went on, “President Trump is a leader, and he’s the leader our country needs, and if ever there was a doubt, earlier this week, we saw just how tough, resilient, courageous and daring this man is and we can’t Get him back in the White House fast enough.”
She further stated, “Ladies and gentlemen, we are not called to stand still in the face of great danger. You and I were put on this earth at a moment in time to charge boldly ahead. We cannot know what the future holds, but we know damn sure who holds the future in his hands.”
The Arkansas Governor emphasized that Trump’s survival was providential. “God spared President Trump from that assassin because God is not finished with him yet. And he most certainly is not finished with America yet, either, with God as our guide and President Trump back in the White House, we will show the world that Americans the place where freedom reigns and liberty will never die.” Watch her speech below:
Trump also acknowledged that it was God who ultimately prevented the bullet from fatally striking him at the rally. The former president posted on Truth Social, “Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening. We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness. Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed. In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win. I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin.”
