Brad Arnold, the lead singer for the popular rock band 3 Doors Down, recently shared his Christian faith during a concert in late August. Arnold paused the show to talk about Jesus Christ with thousands of fans. Arnold spoke about the importance of focusing on Christ instead of what contemporary culture sells you.
“I feel like I can identify with this song more than most of our songs,” he said, referencing the upcoming song in the set, “Away From the Sun.” “This world surrounds us with a message that we’ll never be good enough, we’ll never be strong enough, we’ll never be beautiful enough, we’ll never be rich enough. Whatever the case may be. Certainly that we’ll never win. Social media surrounds us with those messages all the time. It’s driven down our throats every day, that we’ll never be good enough and that nobody really, really loves us,” he added.
Arnold continued, explaining that in the eyes of Christ, everyone is loved. “Jesus Christ loves you so much that he made you just the way you are, just the way you’re standing there right now.” He said, “He also loves you to let you know that you’re not complete,” he continued. “I promise you there’s more, and you will win.”
The 3 Doors Down front man also pointed out a crucial truth in Christianity that we will always fall short of the perfection of Christ, but we are forgiven regardless. “I failed all day today. You failed today. But you’re still the one that Jesus loves,” Arnold said. He proceeded to lead the crowd in a chant of, “I am the one that Jesus loves.” He added, “Amen, my friends. Thank you so much.”
The Christian Tribune has reported on various different celebrities and musical artists who have openly spoken about their faith. Footage recently circulated across social media showing Justin Bieber sharing his testimony as to how he came to put his faith in Jesus Christ.
Justin recounted a time in which he cried out to God. “I asked, God, if you’re real. I need you to kind of show me,” he said. He noted that he began to seek God instead of other worldly things. “And rather than seeking after these other things, I just kind of started looking to God,” he said.
The singer continued, “And he showed me, you know, that I was worth saving, that I was worth dying, across the board, that I was worth in my life was worth that, that I was worthy. And showed me, you are. You’re worth it. you are. I died for you I love you. I forgive you, your retained, your mind, I love you, obsessed with you.”
