Reverend Franklin Graham recently praised efforts at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, where members of the football team organized an event where they spread the message of Jesus Christ to hundreds of people, with some giving their lives to Jesus Christ and getting baptized.
Graham wrote on social media, “Wow! This is the kind of news we need a lot more of! Ohio State Football players led an ‘Invitation to Jesus’ event on campus and shared the life-changing truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Nearly 2,000 people attended Sunday evening and dozens were baptized. Praise God for each heart that was transformed!”
The Christian Tribune reported on the initial news of the evangelical event hosted at Ohio State. “These Ohio State football players just did something on campus that I have never seen before, a free event put on by some of the Buckeye’s biggest stars collected 1000s from the Ohio State community and grew even more throughout the night,” a narrator said in a video highlight of the event posted on TikTok.
“It was all about sharing their faith in Jesus, which started with everybody coming together to worship, and the energy was amazing. Each of the players went up to share their stories of how their relationship with Jesus has changed their lives and how much God loves each and every person in the crowd,” the narration of the event added.
“Courageous attendees took a leap of faith to come up front and pray a prayer to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. And it only gets better, late into the night, with everyone taking notice, person after person made the decision to get baptized, which is a public profession of their faith, and lives are going to be changed forever,” the narrator concluded.
The Christian Tribune also reported on other comments from Franklin Graham sounded off on the liberal, pro-Kamala Harris organization “Evangelicals for Harris,” which appeared to use the image of his father, the late Billy Graham, in a message that was critical of former President Donald Trump. However, Graham reassured that his father would have undoubtedly supported Trump if he were alive today.
“The liberals are using anything and everything they can to promote candidate Harris,” Graham wrote in the post. “They even developed a political ad trying to use my father [Billy Graham’s] image. They are trying to mislead people. Maybe they don’t know that my father appreciated the conservative values and policies of President [Trump] in 2016, and if he were alive today, my father’s views and opinions would not have changed.”
However, Jerushah Duford, the granddaughter of the famous Rev. Billy Graham, differed from the rest of her family and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris during an “Evangelicals for Harris” virtual meeting recently. “Voting Kamala, for me, is so much greater than policies. It’s a vote against another four years of faith leaders justifying the actions of a man who destroys the message Jesus came to spread, and that is why I get involved in politics,” she said.
