Washington Commanders star quarterback Jayden Daniels recently gave all the glory to God in a post-game interview with the press after a record-setting performance from the young athlete. As Daniels was repeatedly praised for his stunning performance on the football field, he maintained that God ultimately granted him these abilities.
The quarterback was asked by a reporter, “You did not look like a rookie tonight, what felt good to you?” Daniels responded, “Good credit in my own lines get credited on my receivers, my running backs and most of them, most importantly, get credit to God.” After the reporter highlighting some of his amazing statistics from the game, he replied, “Give glory to God. Man I wouldn’t be in this business without Him, so I can’t do nothing without Him.”
Famous NFL athlete, Robert Griffin III praised the rookie for honoring God in light of his superstar performance. “Jayden Daniels just played the game of his life. Set an NFL record for the highest completion percentage in a game EVER for a rookie. Had more total touchdowns than incompletions. And what does he do when asked about it? He gives All THE GLORY TO GOD. He gets it. He TRUSTS GOD,” RGIII wrote. Other users on social media also praised the young quarterback.
One user said ,”What an incredible performance by Jayden Daniels! Breaking an NFL record for highest completion percentage as a rookie is phenomenal, and his humility shines brighter than his stats. Giving all the glory to God shows his character, faith, and perspective. His testimony inspires millions, reminding us that success is not just about personal achievement but also about honoring something greater. Daniels’ trust in God is truly admirable. Congratulations to Jayden Daniels on this historic feat! May his faith continue to guide and inspire him, both on and off the field.”
Another person wrote in the comments section, “Total class young man! Amazing night and he gvs all glory to his savior, God, Almighty. I think he just won rookie of the year last night even though it is early in the season.” Similarly, another person said, “That’s the kind of attitude that takes you far, not just in football but in life. Jayden Daniels knows that real success comes from keeping God at the center.”
Other users commented on Daniels’ humility that he demonstrates as one of the top professional athletes. All to often, celebrities and famous athletes fall victim to pride and self-exaltation. “When you are great at your craft, the world doesn’t make it easy to give credit to our Creator – the world will do everything possible to get you to put yourself on the throne. Always inspiring to see other Believers stand firm and give honor and glory to our Creator!” they wrote.
Another person pointed out the wisdom to Daniels’ mentality, stating, “Pride cometh before a fall” it doesn’t take very much observation in life to see this is very often true. One of the best way to combat this danger to just try and give glory to god. MANY of the best performers have picked up this habit or technique along the way. Too many to be a coincidence.”
