Famous actor Russel Brand recently shared his experience at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., which houses many prominent artifacts of Christianity and the word of God. Earlier this year, Brand made a monumental conversion to Christianity, surrendering to Christ and getting baptized. Ever since, Brand has been outspoken about his faith to his platform of millions.
Brand wrote in a social media post, “The Museum of the Bible is more than a museum – it is an immersive and elucidating experience. In many ways, it felt as if I was partaking in a visceral encounter with God.” He shared several other pictures of him in the museum looking at various pieces of Christian history.
“I wish I hadn’t thought that I was too clever for the religion of my grandmothers. I thought, I thought that I was too smart. I thought somehow that I knew what was in the Bible, even without reading it. I get the idea. You know, angels, Jesus, reading it is blowing my mind on a daily basis,” Brand continued.
The famous actor concluded, “I didn’t make a choice, Tucker and I mentioned the way that you operate as well, that there is a kind of surrender. I’m not saying that I am without shame. I’m not saying that I’m without fear. I’m not saying that at points I don’t feel compromised and uncertain. I’m saying that since being baptized, since becoming Christians, since surrendering to Him, I feel his presence continually. I feel it now I feel it in this moment, and I feel free.
