Famous actor Tim Allen gave an update on his journey to reading the Christian Bible. Allen recently decided to explore the word of God on a deeper level and noted the “amazing” experience that has resulted from delving into the books of the Bible.
The actor recently took to social media, giving an update on his readings of the Old Testament. Allen recently posted to X, “Continuing my reading of the complete Bible. Finished a rather intense Ezekiel now on to Daniel. The challenge in reading this Book is how I translate words that the Eternal expresses to the temporary. I need a Snickers.”
Users offered messages of support for Allen, encouraging him to continue his journey. “Think of the Old Testament as preparation and ground laying for the New Testament and Christ. Almost everything in the Old Testament is moving in one direction, towards one point,” one person wrote.
Another person wrote, “Daniel is one of my favorite books. Aside from the fantastic story itself, the prophetic aspect is mind blowing. I urge you to use a good study companion with this one. There are many examples of fulfilled prophesy from the book of Daniel, and that is super exciting, but the thing about it i like most is the introduction of the “Son of man”. This vision is where we are introduced to this title for Christ. As you are probably aware, this was the title that Christ most often used for Himself. He was calling Himself the character in the vision of Daniel. Good stuff.”
Earlier this year, Allen spoke about his reading of the Bible. “Never took the time in all my years to ever read and really read the Bible,” he shared to his followers. “Currently almost through the Jerusalem Bible Old Testament and almost done with the Prophets. Next up to New Testament. So far amazing and not at all what I was expecting.”
Allen received an outpouring of support for his willingness to read the Bible. “You’re reading a book that changed the history of all mankind and will change your life in big, small, and unexpected ways. If you’re ‘still that wisecracking kid from the Midwest, looking for answers to life’s big questions,’ you’re about to find them. So excited for you!” one person wrote.
“The Bible is God’s LIVING Word and each time you read it with an open heart seeking His Truth Tim, the Holy Spirit will lead and guide you into ALL Truth. God bless you,” another person joyfully added, encouraging Allen to pursue the Holy Spirit.
“Tim, That’s awesome! Keep at it. I’ve been reading the Bible every day for years and have read through it several times. We’re all criminals in God’s eyes. None of us are righteous. But while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us! If we confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts that he did this for us and to pay our sin debt, we will be saved! It sounds too good to be true, but that’s why it’s called the good news!” another said.
