Speaking in a video posted to Instagram over the weekend, Christian music artist Jeremy Camp said that he has been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, a condition that involves having a rapid and irregular heart rhythm. After announcing his diagnosis, Camp called for help from Christians, saying he was issuing a “big cry for prayer” from “prayer warriors.”
Beginning the video, he explained that he had debated announcing his condition, but then decided to do so because of people who have offered to pray for him. He said, “Hey, guys, so I’ve debated tell everybody this, but I just for some reason felt like I should tell her buddy, I have a lot of people saying to me always, you know, ‘what can we be praying for you?'”
He continued, speaking about those who offered to pray, that he is very thankful for those who have done so, saying, “And there’s a lot of prayer warriors out there, a lot of people have been praying for me just for different things, and I’m super thankful for it.”
Then, turning from the introduction to details on his condition, Camp said, “So I want to bring this up with attention. Actually, I have surgery on Monday. It’s a cardiac ablation, though, go through the veins in my leg, and they help this thing called afib.”
Explaining how the condition was impacting him, he said, “My heart is in a crazy rhythm, and it was affecting a lot of things. And even tonight, I went into AFib on stage and it cut the set short. And so that was difficult. It goes beats really, really fast, and I can’t breathe. It’s hard to function.”
He then turned to how the surgeons were going to handle it, saying, “And so I have a surgery on Monday to take care of that. So I would just ask for your prayers. And everything goes well. The doctors just have wisdom, and that guy would just put his hand on the whole situation. So anyway, I go in at 730 Central Time. So probably 830 to nine is when I’ll start surgery. So my wife will kind of keep you updated on Monday. Maybe just a quick update on what happened. But yeah, I just would love your prayers. So thank you guys so much for being amazing for years and so supportive and this is a big cry for your help and for prayer. So love you guys.”
Commenting on Camp’s video, people said things like “You have all my prayers Jeremy. Love you so much,” “Fervently praying my brother! God’s got you! You’re his son 🙏🏽💯 Love you man @jeremycampofficial 🙏🏽😊,” and “Where the doctor’s hands can’t reach the Lord’s hands will touch! Praying a healing blessing over you and your family 🙏🙏🙏”

In a Monday post, his wife added that he was ok, saying, “i guys, Adrienne here. Just wanted to give you an update on Jeremy… He’s resting and has to lay completely flat for a while. He’s enjoying being spoon fed by me. Lol! Surgery was a success but it’ll take a few months to fully heal. We are beyond grateful for how you guys have cared for us in prayer. Also, so grateful for an incredible Dr and staff. “My strength and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Ps 73:26”
