In a sermon posted to social media, Rev. Dr. Pat Langlois denied the resurrection. She says the issue, which is core to the Christian faith, doesn’t matter. According to the woke pastor, the real resurrection is ‘our faith.’ Her words drew massive online backlash, with many commentators labeling the sermon as blasphemous. In addition to her problematic theology, Langlois is involved in a number of ultra-woke endeavors.
“The question was, did the resurrection actually physically happen, and if it didn’t, or did, what does that do to your faith?’ she posited. “I said, Well, do I think that it could have happened … I believe so because I think God’s big enough and He has the ability to… but if I’m to be, you know, scientific or realistic, I don’t know. And I say that because there’s no “proof,” right?”
” Did it really happen, right? Did Jesus physically, like, wake up and, you know, Starbucks coffee was on and so what happened?” Langlois explained. ” Did Jesus really raise from the dead? I don’t know, but I’m going to tell you this: if Jesus didn’t physically rise from the dead and ascend, it doesn’t change a thing about my love of God and Christ and Christianity.”
“You know why? Because I truly believe, in my heart of hearts, that my faith, our faith, is a resurrection. Faith, amen be, and I know. I know here come to Easter service and hear A heretical sermon. You are in the right place,” she astutely noticed. Her church, United Church of Christ in the Valley, is associated with a number of ultra-woke causes.
According to their webpage, ” Metropolitan Community Church / United Church of Christ in the Valley, a Christian Church originally founded to serve the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered community, but welcoming of heterosexual folks, we recognize EVERY human as a beloved child of God.” They say, ” Through the example of Jesus the Christ, and creatively led by the Holy Spirit, we know God’s table is without boundaries — an inclusive spiritual and prayer-centered community of love, peace-making, and compassionate care.”
“MCC United Church of Christ in the Valley is an inclusive and green Christian community of faith. We made the Earth a member of our church, and we actively work at reducing our carbon emissions that impact climate change — that effect us and other life. We have a deep reverence for all life and the Earth, and we know that “For God so loved the world as to give the only begotten Child that whoever believes may not die but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) The world includes more than humanity, but all life, our planet, and universe.
“Her ministry began during the height of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in the Eighties, which deepened her compassion and understanding of those in the midst of life and death,” her self-written bio reads.” She has fought in the streets and in legislatures for fairness and equality for the GLBT community as well as for immigration and other justice issues.”

“It… literally does matter. It’s the entire basis of the faith. And if this “minister” doesn’t believe in the resurrection, then they have no business being a minister in the first place,” replied one account. Another noticed, “And there we go. Mask off. Whenever you see a denomination go liberal on social issues, it’s not because they have bigger hearts/more compassion/are more like Jesus. It’s because they don’t really believe in the God of the Bible.”
