In a not-so-shocking twist to the woke sermon delivered by “so-called bishop” Mariann Budde the day after Donald Trump’s historic inauguration in January of this year, it turns out Episcopal leader benefitted greatly from Joe Biden and indeed the entire political establishment’s love affair with government money being handed out to churches in the name of helping immigrants and refugees.
Various news outlets reported in the days following her awful lecture that Bishop Budde’s Episcopalian Church was the recipient of about $53 million in 2023, with estimates going even higher for 2024, from the Biden administration. It follows the same pattern uncovered by Elon Musk and his DOGE team that U.S. taxpayer money has been wasted and abused far beyond what most people could even fathom.
At the same time that Budde was lecturing Trump to treat people who wash dishes or pick crops kindly and with humanity, some have speculated she was more concerned with the spigot being turned rather than feel any real compassion for the untold number of immigrants Joe Biden and his team helped resettle in America during his four longs years as president. Australia’s excellent Sky News team broke down the story on a segment called The Tate Debate.
“It’s because her church made $53 million out of the Biden administration to resettle migrants in America under Programs that Trump has now paused,” the eponymous host said during a monologue from early February. “So this wasn’t her genuinely standing there saying I’m so worried about the state of the world. And I’m saying this because I’m a Christian. I’m saying this because it lines the pockets of my church. Of course, at no point did she mention the fact that they got this $53 million to resettle 3600 refugees in America last year. So that was 2023 last year they had 6400 people that they resettled in America, pocketing all this money through another arm they call the Episcopal migration ministry.”
“Isn’t it convenient, isn’t it?” the host then asked rhetorically. “The man walks in who’s decided to cut off the flow of money because you’re just making sh*t loads by getting a bunch of people to come over to America. And that’s a lot of money, $53 million for, a few 1000 people, that’s not a bad racket. He turns the tap off, and all of a sudden, oh, she’s so worried about these migrants and these transgender people who are fearing for their lives. No, she was worried about the bottom line.”
Take a listen and watch below as both government corruption and Budde get called out in a way only the Aussies could pull off:
For his part, Trump famously wasn’t having any of it. Whether or not he knew the financial transactions at the time of being forced to endure her wholly inappropriateĀ sermon, Trump and Vance were decidedly not impressed with what they were hearing. In a post to Truth Social shortly after, he blasted the “so-called bishop” for being “nasty in tone and not compelling or smart.”
The post read: “The so called bishop who spoke at the National Prayer service on Tuesday morning was a radical left, hard line Trump hater. She brought her church into the world of politics in a very ungracious way. She was nasty in tone and not compelling or smart. She failed to mention the large number of illegal immigrants that came into our country and killed people. Many were deposited from jails and mental institutions. It is a giant crime wave that is taking place in the USA. Apart from her inappropriate statements, the service was a very boring and uninspiring one. She is not very good at her job. She and her church owe the public an apology.”
