In a highly controversial sermon, progressive pastor Dr. Steve Caudle called for retribution against Elon Musk, the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). According to the pastor, Musk had made himself a target for violence by firing unaccountable bureaucrats. Unsprisingly, conservatives pounced on the woke pastor and called him out for his threats.
For context, DOGE was established by an executive order and empowered by the president to root out widespread corruption in the government. Instead of applauding the department, woke ideologues have attacked Musk and DOGE with increasingly dramatic rhetoric for firing wasteful government employees and cutting budgets.
Such was shown when Caudle, a Tennessee-based pastor, made his insane February 10, 2025, rant. The woke pastor said, “In this nation, I’m worried that we are on the verge of bloodshed. This is an attempt to take us back to a day when we do not want to go and we will not go. Therefore, there will be conflict. I pray that the peace of God will win out and overcome the madness that is attempting to take over this nation.”
Building on that point, the Rev. addressed possible objections. Caudle added, “And I will say to you, beloved, no one likes violence, but sometimes violence is necessary when Elon Musk forces his way into the United States Treasury and threatens to steal your personal information and your Social Security check, there is possibility of violence. Sometimes the devil will act so ugly that you have no other choice but to get violent and fight.”
Still not done, he opined, “Well, someone might say, Now, Reverend, you know you shouldn’t be talking about violence. This is a Christian thing to do. Well, I will say, why not talk this way? Because…Jesus said …didn’t he? The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. The Kingdom of God is a war zone. It is a battlefield. You did know this, right?”
After facing significant backlash, Caudle spoke with local media to clear up the so-called misunderstanding. He claimed, ”I was talking about the passage out of the Gospel of Matthew, the 11th chapter, the words of Jesus, not my words. “When he said, since the time of John the Baptist, the King of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”
Unconvinced by his argument, Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp slammed the woke pastor. Wamp fired back by saying it was “totally unacceptable for Rev. Caudle to use the pulpit to justify violence against the Trump Administration and Elon Musk. Hateful rhetoric has no place in Hamilton County, especially from a pastor. I have asked for his immediate resignation from the Regional Planning Commission.”

However, Dr. Cuadle refused to take responsibility, saying, “[I] never called for violence against Elon Musk, and he knows that it’s propaganda. They take things, they twist it, they only play portions of a particular sermon in order to push their propaganda to Elon Musk.”
