President Trump and his wife, Melania, issued celebration statements during the Easter holiday. The Trump family recognized the profound significance of Easter in the Christian faith and reflected biblical principles in the statements.
For context, Trump has made a number of statements on Easter that run the gamut from heartwarming celebrations of holiday cheating to scathing takedowns of his political opponents. However, this year, the president maintained a conciliatory tone.
In a May 21, 2025, announcement, the White House quoted the president as saying, “✝️” Melania and I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter! Whether you are heading out to Church or watching Service from home, may this day be full of Peace and Joy for all who celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. HE IS RISEN!!” –President Donald J. Trump.”
In his separate statement, the president said, “This Holy Week, Christians around the World remember the Crucifixion of God’s Only Begotten Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and, on Easter Sunday, we celebrate His Glorious Resurrection and proclaim, as Christians have done for nearly 2,000 years, “HE IS RISEN!””
Adding to this point, Trump explained the significance of the holiday. He declared, “Through the pain and sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, we saw God’s boundless Love and Devotion to all Humanity and, in that moment of His Resurrection, History was forever changed with the Promise of Everlasting Life.”
Concluding his remarks, the president said, “As we approach this Joyous Easter Sunday, I want to wish Christians everywhere a Happy and very Blessed Holiday. America is a Nation of Believers. We need God, we want God and, with His help, we will make our Nation Stronger, Safer, Greater, more Prosperous, and more United than ever before. Thank you, and HAPPY EASTER!”
In her remarks, First Lady Melania Trump said, “It was a beautiful day at the @WhiteHouse, filled with joy and laughter as children from across the nation gathered to celebrate Easter traditions. Together, we embraced the spirit of hope and renewal, reminding us all of the magic that comes from community, love, and the promise of new beginnings.”
Users flocked to agree with the president in the comments under Trump’s initial post. One such comment said, “Say what you want, but no president in our lifetime spoke this boldly about faith, family, and eternal truth. That’s why the left lost their minds…. he reminded America who we really are.”
Another lengthy comment contrasted Trump’s easter remarks to those of his predecessors. The reply noted, “Trump’s Easter message hits deeper than just tradition, it’s a reminder that faith and national strength are inseparable in his vision for America. “He is risen” isn’t just a religious phrase; it’s a rallying cry for a country that’s been spiritually and morally tested. While the left mocks this as pandering, millions of Americans see it as a return to values that built this nation.”
Rounding out this long reply, the poster said, “And let’s be honest, when was the last time Biden or Trudeau mentioned God without sounding like it was scripted by a DNC intern? How do you feel about faith being tied to leadership in today’s world, necessary conviction or outdated thinking?”
