In a historic moment of redemption, more than 7,000 people were baptized near Huntington Beach, California, as part of an event organized by Baptize America, a Christian ministry dedicated to bringing people to Christ across the country.

For context, the “Baptize California” event took place on May 3, 2025, and was a multichurch collaboration that featured several prominent pastors and worship artists like Cody Karnes, Kari Jobe, and Bethel Music, with over 30,000 people attending. The event is reportedly a precursor to what the organizers are calling “the largest synchronized baptism in history,” which is set to take place on June 8, 2025 — Pentecost Sunday.

During the event, Pastor Mark Francey of Oceans Church triumphantly told the crowd, “You were part of the largest water baptism in American history,” adding, “Who thinks that God could do it in the other states of America?” Following this statement, Francey later added, “God is not done with America and California. If this can happen in California, it can spread across America.”

In addition, Pastor Francey gave more background on the event in a statement issued to CBN, saying that “Jesus Christ is working again from the beaches of California, awakening a generation, uniting the church to reach the ends of the Earth. Continuing, Francey said, “A spiritual awakening has begun in California, one that will sweep from the beaches to the neighborhoods of America, and to the nations of the world.”

Furthermore, Pastor Francey pointed out that California is a state that “many people have given up on,” adding that about 500 local churches and 30 local pastors helped organize the event, saying, “Churches are working together in unprecedented ways around Jesus’ Great Commission to make disciples and baptize the nation.”

Posting on Instagram following the event, Baptize America wrote, “What a day to remember,” adding, “Thousands gathered at Huntington Beach for a historic move of God at Baptized California. From worship on the sand to lives being transformed in the water, today was nothing short of miraculous.”

Continuing their post, the organization wrote, “Heaven rejoiced as thousands made the bold decision to follow Jesus and be water baptized!” Hinting at the upcoming revival event slated for June 8, 2025, they added, “This is only the beginning. Revival is here.”

Furthermore, the organization provided more background on their upcoming revival on their website, writing, “This is not about any single church. It’s about churches across the nation united, pursuing the fulfillment of the Great Commission.” They added, “If God can do it in California, He can do it in any state. He can do it in any other nation in the world.”
