Looking for inspiring, Christ-centered media that aligns with Biblical truth? Take a look at our list of the best Christian podcasts to stream when you need some encouragement and want to strengthen your faith. Here, you’ll find shows made by believers that will help you stay up-to-date on current events, learn the Bible, and more, along with a few shows that we recommend avoiding.

5. The Bible in a Year with Fr. Mike Schmitz

This podcast guides you through the entire Bible in 365 episodes, with daily readings, reflections, and prayers from Father Mike Schmitz, who never fails to be an engaging communicator. In addition to the podcast, Father Mike makes excellent, God-honoring content on YouTube as well that answers questions about faith and the Bible.

4. Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey

On “Relatable,” Allie Beth Stuckey walks you through topics related to culture, politics, and theology — all through the lens of the conservative Christian worldview. A deep, critical thinker who isn’t afraid to speak some hard truth, Allie Beth is the type of podcast host who quickly starts to feel like a helpful best friend or big sister who always points you back towards God.

3. The Plugged-In Show

If you’re looking for Christian insight into the latest movies, music, and TV shows, The Plugged-In Show is perfect for you and your family. Created by the Christian ministry Focus on the Family, the show is designed to be a helpful tool for families who want to make informed decisions about media in an age when entertainment seems to be drifting farther and farther away from God’s truth.

2. The Briefing With Albert Mohler

Al Mohler is an insightful Biblical thinker with a wealth of timeless wisdom, and his podcast, The Briefing, is where he looks at current events through the lens of the Christian worldview. The show is broadcast throughout the work week, and it’s a great means of staying up to date on U.S. and world news while staying focused on your faith.

1. Faith Over Fear

Faith Over Fear is hosted by Jennifer Slattery and Carol McCracken, and it’s crafted to help listeners overcome fear by trusting in God. In each episode, the hosts offer practical advice that will help you boldly live out your faith and navigate the complex challenges that you face in day-to-day life.

What Podcasts Should Christians Avoid?

If you do a quick Google search for “The Best Christian Podcasts,” you’ll get plenty of results that might not be the best options for growing your faith. There are a few specific shows that we don’t recommend putting in your ears while commuting or doing your chores:

Good Christian Fun

Hosted by two progressive Christian comedians who frequently swear, make irreverent jokes, and poke fun at Christian media from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. For Christians who grew up in those areas, the show can feel like a hilarious blast from the past, but the hosts’ questionable theology and the PG-13 content make the podcast hard to recommend.

The Liturgists

The Liturgists is hosted by ex-Christian musician Michael Gungor and a group of several other progressive and “spiritual but not religious” individuals. Their roundtable discussions touch on interesting spiritual topics, but the hosts have little reverence for the Bible and have all drifted away from orthodox Christianity to pursue their own “truth.”
