Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, has called for President Trump to seek God’s wisdom before getting the United States involved in Israel’s escalating conflict with Iran, sending a text message to the president admonishing him to listen to the “ONE voice that Matters” as he makes weighty decisions that will impact the world.
For context, on June 17, 2025, President Trump shared a Truth Social post that included a screenshot of a text message from Mike Huckabee, U.S. ambassador to Israel, whom the president described as a “Great Person.” Huckabee, who previously ran against President Trump in the 2016 election, told the president that he believed he had been “spared” by God in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024 to be possibly the “most consequential” president in American history.
Huckabee’s text message to President Trump began, “Mr. President, God spared you in Butler, PA to be the most consequential President in a century—maybe ever.” The noted Republican and outspoken Christian continued, “The decisions on your shoulders I would not want to be made by anyone else. You have many voices speaking to you Sir, but there is only ONE that matters.”
Continuing, Huckabee encouraged the president to listen intently to “HIS voice,” referring to God, and adding, “I am your appointed servant in this land and am available for you, but I do not try to get in your presence often because I trust your instincts.” Huckabee continued, “No President in my lifetime has been in a position like yours.”
Next, Huckabee compared President Trump’s current predicament to that of “Truman in 1945,” who made the difficult decision to drop the first atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Huckabee went on, “I don’t reach out to persuade you. Only to encourage you. I believe you will hear from heaven and that voice is far more important than mine or ANYONE else’s.”
Nearing the conclusion of his message, Huckabee reminded the president, “You sent me to Israel to be your eyes, ears and voice and to make sure our flag flies above our embassy. My job is to be the last one to leave.” He concluded, “I will not abandon this post. Our flag will NOT come down! You did not seek this moment. This moment sought YOU! It is my honor to serve you!”
Importantly, Huckabee is not the only ally of President Trump who has pointed out the miraculous nature of his life being spared in July 2024, when he was shot in the ear by a would-be assassin in Butler, Pennsylvania. In an interview with CBN News, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that she wholeheartedly believes in spiritual warfare, adding, “I saw it firsthand during the campaign. I believe the president was saved by the grace of God in Butler, Pennsylvania, and that he’s in this moment for a reason.”
Continuing, Leavitt explained that she believes “God has a plan for everyone,” adding that she sees President Trump as being part of what her interviewer described as a “spiritual revival among young people,” saying the president “believes in young people and is working to make America better for future generations.”
