In a shocking moment, President Trump appeared to say a prayer on live TV after announcing an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, saying, “We love you, God,” and asking for God’s blessings and protection for the United States military before declaring, “God bless the Middle East.”

For context, on June 21, 2025, President Trump announced that the United States had successfully launched an attack on three key nuclear sites in Iran. Moreover, after making his initial announcement of the attack on Truth Social, the president issued a live address to the nation in which he openly thanked God for the success of the attack.

Posting on Truth Social at 7:50 p.m. on June 21, President Trump told his followers, “We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.” The president continued, “All planes are now outside of Iran air space (sic). A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors.”

Concluding his announcement, the president said that there is “not another military in the World that could have done this.” He added, “NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.” On the same day, President Trump doubled down on his celebratory attitude during a live address to the nation, saying, “Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.”

Moreover, President Trump continued his live address by calling Iran “the bully of the Middle East” and saying that the nation “must now make peace.” He then added, “If they do not. Future attacks would be far greater and a lot easier.” In addition, near the conclusion of his address, the president added, “I want to just thank everybody and in particular God.” Next, the president seemed to say a brief prayer: “We love you, God, and we love our great military. Protect them.” He concluded, “God bless the Middle East. God bless Israel, and God bless America.”

Following President Trump’s address to the nation, Christian leaders reacted online, with Samaritan’s Purse president Franklin Graham writing on X on June 22, 2025, “This morning we learned that the United States had executed military strikes to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities.”

Continuing, Graham urged his followers, “Pray for our nation. Pray for President @realDonaldTrump and the leaders around him, and pray for our military.” He added, “Also pray for Israel today as they continue to receive missile attacks. President Trump cited that Iran has long said, ‘Death to America’ and ‘Death to Israel.’ Their hate is real.” Concluding his statement, Graham wrote, “Peace through strength is a true statement, but we must remember that God is our strength and ask for His help and direction.”
