Watch: Democrats Shout ‘NOOO!’ As House Republicans Seek Moment Of Prayer For Charlie Kirk

House Democrats reminded everyone once again how vile they are as many collectively shouted down an opportunity presented by the Republican majority and House Speaker Mike Johnson to engage in a moment of prayer for the recently-assassinated Charlie Kirk. The prayer was suggested in the immediate aftermath of Kirk’s horrific murder on September 10th, 2025 on a Utah college campus.

For context, House delegates had convened on the afternoon of the date in which Kirk was allegedly gunned down by a single bullet. Representative Lauren Boebert was recognized by Speaker Johnson and she asked that her colleagues spend a moment in prayer in remembrance of the fallen husband and father. Immediately upon making this request, the House chamber erupted in a cacophony of outraged Democrats who vocally resisted the idea.

Johnson had to gavel Democrats repeatedly as he sought to restore both decency and decorum in the chamber. “Wait a minute, wait a minute!” he can be heard shouting. “The House will be in order. After having to chide Democrats for a lengthy period of time, things finally calmed and Johnson was able to announce there would be a prayer after the proceedings of the day concluded. Take a look at the chaos unfold below:

Social media erupted in outrage after witnessing the soulless exhibition from the reprehensible Democrat opposition. Many comments called for expulsion from Congress for their wildly inappropriate antics. “Whoever shouted no should be immediately relieved of duty,” one comment said, continuing, “ A citizen just died by assassination for exercising his 1st amendment right… if they can’t handle a moment of silence for that, they can get TF out of my government.”

Another comment seconded the motion, more succinctly writing that “anyone shouting no should be kicked out of congress [sic].” Relatedly, the visceral response of Democrat lawmakers to oppose a short prayer for the assassinated Kirk reminded many on the right that unity with such evil would be impossible. “Still think we can negotiate with the left to fix the country?” someone rhetorically asked. “Better think twice.”

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene likewise requested a similar prayer even preceding the disgusting chaos in the Capitol building. Speaking to the House Oversight Committee, Greene asked Chair James Comer for a prayer after just learning of the tragic events. “I’d like to ask for a prayer for Charlie Kirk. It’s being reported he’s been shot at an event,” she stated. Comer, audibly shocked, honored her request with a moment of silence.

Of course, as Boebert and Greene sought healing and unity, Democrats took Kirk’s murder in a different direction. AOC provided perhaps some of the most disturbing content in the wake of this tragedy, using the Congressional pulpit to denounce Kirk as a racist bigot with backward views.

She lambasted House Republicans for even thinking about honoring Kirk, who she pointed out opposed many of the religious totems of the modern-day Democrat Party. “We should be clear about who Charlie Kirk was,” AOC said during her remarks, “a man who believed that the Civil Rights Act that granted black Americans the right to Vote was a mistake.

She continued, saying Kirk was unworthy of House recognition because he even questioned the narrative of the random Paul Pelosi story from a few years back. “After the violent attack on Paul Pelosi, claimed that, quote, some amazing Patriot unquote, should bail out his brutal assailant and accused Jews of controlling, quote, not just the colleges, it’s the nonprofits, it’s the movies, it’s Hollywood, it’s all of it. UNQUOTE!”

“His rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant, uneducated and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans far from the working quote, working tirelessly to promote unity. Unquote, asserted by the majority in this resolution, it is equally important that Congress does unite to reject the government’s attempt to weaponize this moment into an all out assault on free speech across the country, all in the name of Charlie Kirk,” she continued.
