Pop star Gwen Stefani shocked many long-time followers of the ‘Don’t Speak’ fanbase with her passionate appeal to spend the Christmas season in prayer. Stefani has teamed up with Hollywood stars such as Mark Wahlberg, Chris Pratt, and Jonathan Roumi to share the Hallow app, the world’s number one faith-based resource for prayer.

Looking beautiful without overdoing it, Stefani staged her video with a holiday-themed backdrop and spoke as soft music accompanied her invocation to find and follow Jesus Christ during the season of celebrating and remembering his Holy birth two-thousand years ago in Bethlehem.

“It is important this holiday season to spend time in prayer. That is what Christmas is all about, letting God into our hearts and letting Jesus bring us His peace. Download hallow today and join me and millions of others in praying every day this Advent and Christmas season on Hallow,” she said in a short video released to her social media accounts.

Writing about the video on X, Oli London likewise summarized the moving plea encouraging fans of the singer to remember what the Christmas season is truly about. “Gwen Stefani wins praise from Christians for encouraging people to pray during the Christmas season,” he wrote.

Continuing, the social media influencer stated: “It is important this holiday season to spend time in prayer…letting God into our hearts. The singer encouraged her followers to download prayer app Hallow to join her in prayer as part of her role as a brand ambassador for the Christian app.”

The Hallow app quickly became the world’s most downloaded tool to return wayward Catholics to their faith as well as reinforce daily prayer and meditation for those already deeply committed. The app features an assortment of Bible stories, prayers, meditations, music, daily resources. According to the sources, it has been downloaded more than two million times since its launch in 2018.

Actor Jonathan Roumie from the hit Christian television series ‘The Chosen’ is featured on the website with a powerful anecdotal review. “Hallow has been transformative not only for me but for so many others. There’s something for EVERYONE – meditations, prayers, music, the saints – making it impossibly easy to pray more!” he is quoted as saying.

While the video released by Stefani has gained a lot of traction and caused fans to wonder more about her faith, for those paying attention this is not new. Stefani also promoted a 40-day challenge during Lent to get people engaged on a daily basis with their faith and prayers. Speaking from another video promoting her religious views, she had this to say about her background and reengagement with Christ:

“I didn’t go away to college, I lived at home with my family until I was twenty-six years old. I still had my routine through my twenties of going to church with my family. But those rhythms that had always served me so well eventually faded out of my life as my music career started growing. I fell away from my faith. And then came a time in my life when I felt like I was losing everything. My emotional and my mental stress from my situation quickly turned to physical pain, like a physical illness, chronic pain that prevented me from doing daily, ordinary things, and I was so scared.

“I was trying everything to find some sort of cure to what I was going through. During this time I wasn’t as close to God as I wanted to be, and I knew he was calling me back, and it was then my prayer life started again. Feeling so desperate, I got on my knees I asked God: ‘Please, please get me well, please use my gift of music again. Please let me be the person I used to be.’”

“I began returning to daily prayer, trusting that God had a purpose for me, knowing that I needed to serve God. A lot of amazing changes have happened in my life since then, and my faith has carried me through it all.”
