Former Democrat Congresswoman and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard, now serving in the Trump administration as his Director of National Intelligence, sounded off on the threat Islamic Sharia law posed to the United States in a fiery speech at Turning Point USA’s annual America Fest in Phoenix Arizona.
Gabbard went so far to say that the religious and political form of government was a threat not just to the United States, but to the entire existence of Western Civilization, citing irreconcilable incompatibilities with all sorts of freedoms and general ideology. Gabbard joins MAGA Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) in calling for a preemptive ban on Sharia before the burgeoning Muslim immigrant population within the United States garners excessive political power.
The former Democrat darling went on the offensive against Sharia by pointing out the dangers of Islamic ideology in the context of global terrorism. “When we talk about this Islamist ideology, yes, it is the ideology that fuels terrorist groups like Al Qaeda and ISIS and Al-Shabaab and Hamas and Boko Haram and others, and they must be defeated militarily. As they continue to actively plot and try to attack us, they are a threat to our security and our safety.”
She added: “But this Islamist ideology is a direct threat to our freedom because at its core it is a political ideology that seeks to create a global caliphate that governs us here in America, threatening Western civilization, governance by Sharia law, governance by what they are calling their Islamic principles.”
After observing that any freedoms associated with America would be met with violence under Sharia, she then used Christmas as a perfect encapsulation of how Christian values and traditions in the West have been eroded in Europe. “As we approach Christmas, right now in Germany they are canceling Christmas markets because of this threat. In places like Dearborn, Michigan, and Minneapolis, Minnesota, Islamist clerics are openly pushing this Islamist ideology, trying to recruit and radicalize young people.”

As mentioned, the America First movement, whether found within the Trump administration or Senate chamber, has been vocal in its opposition to Sharia and defense of the Constitution. Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville has on multiple occasions condemned the totalitarian and repressive ideology in his own fiery remarks.
“I truly believe we’re at the crossroads of this country,” Tuberville said from the Senate floor. “The time for political correctness is over. That’s why I’ve introduced two bills in the Senate to end Sharia law in this country. End it. The first one is no Sharia Act which makes it illegal to practice Sharia law when it conflicts with our Constitution.”
The Senator continued, this time bringing into focus the unbridgeable divide by Constitutional law and devout Islamic governance. “As I’ve repeatedly said, the radical Islam cult is the opposite of everything, I mean, everything that we stand for in America.”
“The second bill I introduced, the preserving a Sharia law, or Sharia Free America Act, prevents all foreign nationals who advocate for Sharia law from entering this country, no more. If you want to practice that, stay where you’re at or go to one of the other 50 countries that practices this,” he added.
