A rebuttal of almost every modern-day Democrat fixation coalesced around a viral moment involving a young white, Christian, and homeschooled kid asking a great question to the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh and Michael Knowles. The hero of that exchange made an appearance on Fox News where he explained what happened that fateful night and what it has meant since then.
For context, 11-year-old Bryce Anthony wanted more insights into becoming a Christian pastor one day, which earned him immediate praise from the Turning Point USA audience. Both Walsh and Knowles said it was an awesome goal, and in the aftermath he further elaborated on his background and plans for the future on the weekend edition of Fox New’s ‘Fox and Friends.’
Setting the entire stage of interview was the young man’s turn during the habitual Q&A at such events, where he stated to the Daily Wire duo that he wanted to be a priest when he grew up. The comment elicited praise as he further sought advice on how best to achieve that goal. Notable was his wearing of Charlie Kirk’s iconic ‘Freedom” tee-shirt, whom he said was an inspiration in his life, as is the widowed wife Erika.
Introducing the well-spoken and confident young man, the Fox segment briefly recapped the dialogue before welcoming him to their show. “Since going viral, he has clarified that he is a Christian and meant to say pastor rather than priest. That inspiring 11 year old boy. Bryce Anthony joins us now. Yay. Hey, Bryce. Hey, Bryce, good morning. So what has been, Bryce, the reaction since you’ve gone viral with this. What has been the reaction to that moment?” one of the hosts asked.
“It’s kind of a mixture of, oh my gosh, I’m famous, and all of America knows me,” the boy humorously commented, before getting his next round of questions about where his adoration of Charlie Kirk stemmed from.
“Well, so the first time I went to a turning point was when we went to Missoula, there’s the picture, nice. We went up there, and we were listening to Charlie Kirk, and I said, Mom, we should go to another one. And so we went to another one, and she’s pretty much the only reason following Turning Point and Charlie Kirk.”
As the segment continued, Bryce was aksed about where his desire to be a pastor derived from, to which the boy said it came from regular church attendance with his grandparents. “I would have loved to seen the look on your parents face when you said you wanted to be a priest. But let me ask you this. You said that God was calling you. How did how did that manifest itself? In other words, did you Did that come to you while you were praying? Was there somebody that said something? How do you know God is calling you to do this?” he was asked.
“Well, so my brother and I go to church with our grandparents every Sunday, and so that’s pretty much where I got where he was calling me to go speak at that turning point,” the 11-year-old responded. The interview continued with what the Bible meant for him before turning to Charlie Kirk specifically.
“So you’re an incredibly wise and well spoken young man, not just for an 11 year old, but for your wiser and more well spoken than many adults that I know. What was it that what was the message that you remember hearing from Charlie Kirk that resonated with you? What was it that he said that made you want to listen to what he said?” he got asked.
“Well, it wasn’t really what he said. It’s what he believes in and what he does. So it’s kind of like, oh, he believes in the same things as me. So like, yeah, I stand for him. And like, I believe him,” Bryce confidently declared.
In a more light-hearted ending, he then explained how his friends and family reacted to his fame, noting his homeschool background – which given his presentation and articulation was many viewers immediate thought. “Well, I’m homeschooled, so pretty much all my friends when they get out of school, they give me all the talk. They’re like, you’re too cool for us. So boring to play with them,” he said.
