As June came to an end – alternatively celebrated as Pride Month by Democrats – a viral video showcased what appears to be a church full of old, white congregants standing, signing, and otherwise worshipping a rainbow flag draped directly above the altar. While context for the disturbing video is still being amassed, it hasn’t stopped internet commenters from opining on the sacrilegious nature of the corrupt syncretism of Christianity and the LGBT agenda.
For context, the video in question was posted by the X account American AF, who shared the thirty-seven-second clip with a brief caption denoting the church’s location in southern Arizona that included a scan of the sanctuary where it was revealed nearly all of the congregants were white-haired and surely liberal. “A church in Tucson, Arizona worships the Pride flag…what kind of church is this..!?” the account wrote.
Jumping in on the conversation was the popular account Catturd, who pithily described the video as ‘satanic’ in just one word. Users of this post mostly shared the opinion that was happening was decidedly not Christian in nature, though the usual suspects and trolls populated the comments section as well.
One user appeared to support the presence of the rainbow flag, since the rainbow was God’s covenant with His people after washing away the sins of the world. “This is not satanic. It is about God’s promise to mankind. The rainbow has been a religious symbol for thousands of years. It comes from the story of Noah’s ark. God put the rainbow in the sky for us as a reminder of him. Jews and Christians teach it to children,” a user wrote.
Of course, the presence of an actual rainbow in the sky was God’s covenant and the adopted flag of the LGBT community has never made mention of its religious roots. In fact, it could be argued that the rainbow colors were merely co-opted to encourage people to forget its actual meaning.
A quick study of the origins of the original rainbow flag reveals it didn’t come out until the 1960s while hippies destroyed everything they touched and included colors to correspond with nature and feelings and emotions and self-love. “The original flag was designed by activist, veteran, drag queen, and artist, Gilbert Baker, and made its debut at the San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Freedom Day Parade in 1978. He was inspired by the Rolling Stones song She’s a Rainbow, and the 1960s hippies movement, assigning each color with a specific meaning,” the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus notes on its website.
The majority of users were far less sympathetic. “Agree! Definitely Satanic. In the beginning, God created man and woman and said that it was good. God saw that it was not good for man to be alone. He needed a helper suitable to him. So God created the woman from one of Adam’s ribs. Adam was happy and so was Eve. Satan perverts what God had ordained right from the start. That church needs to get out of culture and into the Bible,” one person wrote.
“Exactly right now, you see, they really walk among us demonic, evil, wicked spirits. Don’t worry God will judge everyone of them. it is not a church it’s a layer of a cult of evil,” said another.
