President Trump Hilariously Mocks Adam Schiff, Gavin Newsom, Kaitlan Collins, and Lib Journalists In First WHCD Appearance

President Donald J. Trump showed yet again that he may go down in history as the funniest president in American history with his topical jokes and perfect comedic delivery at the expense of woke Democrats in media and politics alike at his first appearance at the annually-hosted White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Trump famously skipped each of the dinners during his first term given the media apparatus hardly deserved his time or attention.

For context, the July 2026 WHCD was a rescheduled event after the planned April gathering was shut down after a deranged and armed leftist tried running past security with the seeming intent to cause harm. Though subdued thanks to quick action and bravery, the rest of the evening was canceled out of precaution.

Speaking from the podium and wearing the customary tuxedo, President Trump rattled off joke after joke, mocking everyone from California Governor Gavin Newsom, whose name has been mentioned as a possible 2028 Democrat presidential nominee, to Adam Schiff, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, and of course, the entire cadre of woke reporters whom he denigrated by saying they all had Trump Derangement Syndrome.

In his joke about Newsom, he was able to land a perfect joke by referencing the woke Democrat’s horrendous response to the disastrous and deadly 2025 Palisades fire. “And it’s traditional that at least one or two potential presidential hopefuls attend the correspondence dinner, but many of them seem to have really chickened out. I was disappointed that Gavin Newsom didn’t show up. He didn’t show up. He should be here, but I heard that he recently said that we will lose our country if we don’t fight fire with fire. And to be fair, there’s only one thing we know about Gavin, and that’s that he definitely doesn’t want to fight fire with water. He’s got a lot of water, never uses. What a disaster! That should have never happened,” he said.

At another point in the evening, one of his funnier moments came when he singled out CNN anchor and reporter Kaitlan Collins by comparing her to former Bud Light spokesperson Dylan Mulvaney, who famously led to a national boycott of the brand. “And I thought Caitlin had really made it big with a major new sponsorship. But then I informed her that it wasn’t her on the Bud Light can; it was Dylan Mulvaney,” he stated.

Another joke was perfectly set up for people to think he was discussing Iran, only to pivot at the final moment to land a zinger against corporate media. “While I have all of the press here in one place, I have to say that we’re having an amazing load of accomplishments that the media never talks about. For example, under my administration, a once feared and powerful regime that relentlessly attacked America has finally been toppled. Their former leaders have been removed, and they’re now being run by a gay dictator facing internal divisions. But I, for one, wish Barry Weiss all the best at CBS News,” he hilariously said.

On the topic of journalists, it wouldn’t be a Trump speech where the purpose was to celebrate journalism without going on the offensive against the fake news reporters. “Karoline [Leavitt] may have one of the hardest jobs in the White House. She is to deal with all of you, all of the time, and you can be very difficult. You can be very, very difficult people. But I’m probably being a little bit oversensitive. Sometimes I really do think that some of you don’t like me. In fact, I read a report. I get 93 percent negative publicity. 93. So how the hell did I win the election by so much? Think of it. I don’t think that’s true. I can’t believe it’s 93 in the 80s, maybe, but not 93. But this place is the really the largest group of Trump derangement syndrome people ever put together at one time,” he said.

There was also a great moment when Trump went after one of the leading liars from the Russian Collusion hoax, Adam Schiff. “So they [WHCA] thought about going with a professional clown for entertainment. But Adam Shifty Schiff was not available. You know, he’s known. I called him. I hate some people. You know, I shouldn’t say this. I’m not supposed to hate him. Supposed to love everybody, but he’s a terrible person. He’s a liar, and I called him watermelon head because he has the largest head I’ve ever seen with the smallest neck, pencil neck. How does that big, fat, ugly head stand on a on a little pencil, pencil, pencil neck?”
