Celebrity Christian couple Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy shared video of their baptisms after months of public comments on television and social media which has showed them embracing the Lord Jesus Christ. After celebrating his 57th birthday, the former New Kids On The Block star thanked fans for messages and let them know he and his wife, a former Playboy Playmate of the Year, had taken the ultimate plunge.
“To all who have wished me a Happy Birthday today – I thank you! To my family, my friends and my dearest Blockheads – I love you! I’m so thankful for your kindness, and support, you have been so encouraging. Looking back over the past year of my life, the Lord has been renewing my mind, rebuilding my spirit, rearranging my priorities, recentering my focus, recharging my energy, reshaping my heart, refining my faith, restoring my joy and redeeming my life! I don’t know where I would be without Jesus, but I know where I will be with Him! All the glory is His! Thank you again and God bless you all!” Wahlberg wrote on his Instagram account.
Along with more than a quarter of a million likes, nearly 30,000 comments flooded the post extolling the decision to follow the path of Jesus. “I’m crying with full on JESUS-JOY at all of this, @donniewahlberg ❣️ Isn’t HE mind-blowing, Brother? I’m over the moon you and Jenny have been following Him so sweetly this year. It truly makes my heart spillover into my eyes, watching you both give Him all the glory He deserves. Making His Name known is the greatest thing you have (and will) ever do, Wahlbergs! Keep going – I’m praying for your family to persevere, press forward, and finish the race with full confidence and faith in His Promises. May this new year of life be your greatest yet, truly. Soak it all in, Sweet Brother. I’m so thankful we’re all a part of His Chosen Family. Let’s keep pointing more to His Love! Happy Birthday!” one user wrote.
Both Wahlberg, whose rise to fame began four decades ago with the boyband NKOTB, and who later starred in the HBO miniseries ‘Band of Brothers’ and the long-running CBS series ‘Blue Bloods,’ has in recent times shared his faith journey. So too has his wife, who previously mentioned is a former Playmate of the Year, later hosted the popular MTV show ‘Singled,’ briefly co-hosted on ‘The View,’ and is perhaps now known best for advocacy on compulsory medical interventions.
McCarthy was especially outspoken in the wake of the assassination of prominent conservative podcaster and political commentator Charlie Kirk, who was struck down by a single bullet in September of 2025. “We just have become devout since Charlie’s passing,” she shared, before commenting on the idea that Kirk was prepared to martyr himself for a cause he believed so deeply in. “I feel like Charlie knew exactly what he was doing, yeah, and I know now that he knew the sacrifice he was making, and watching his memorial and feeling it,” she said in an interview after the terrible killing.
Speaking about his Arizona memorial, she realized she wasn’t alone with her religious awakening. “Couldn’t you feel it around the country, you guys around the world, like I felt it, the mass awakening, oh, 100% and the people that didn’t and don’t, I don’t judge them, you know, they’re just, they’re not there yet, they’re not there yet, you know. And I pray for them too. I just want Charlie to know that.”
“And I know he knows this, because he could see us all. He changed the world. He saved the world. I mean, imagine having that as your legacy. You shifted to. You brought all those people closer to Christ Yeah, like it’s what a gift…you can feel, you feel his spirit. You feel Charlie here,” she finished, addressing how being in the same studio as Kirk used to have a special aura.
