Woke Actress Slammed For Saying Her Pro-Choice Stance Is An ‘Act Of Mercy”

Woke Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway sparked massive outrage with a description of the already euphemized concept of abortion as an ‘act of mercy,’ prompting Christian and conservative audiences to call for a boycott of her latest film. Hathaway stars opposite Tom Cruise, who alternatively has appealed to that same audience, in a long-awaited sequel to 1990s ‘Days Of Thunder.’

For context, the far-left actress was sitting in studio with the cast of ABC’s ‘The View’ in late 2022 several months after the U.S. Supreme Court sent shockwaves across the nation in overturning fifty years of misguided constitutional theory that previously legalized abortion at the federal level. Roe V Wade had been the law of the land since 1973 until the Dobbs decision leaned on six Republican appointees to send the issue back to the states.

Hathaway was prompted to opine on the matter after co-host Joy Behar referenced a June 30th, 2022 Instagram post made by the actress on the 16th anniversary of her girlboss film adaptation of ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ using the film’s storyline to advance the feminist idea that women must choose career over family and that it is somehow more fulfilling to them.

Responding to Behar was how Hathaway dove into the freshly-stirred controversy. “When you are a young woman starting out your career, your reproductive destiny matters a great deal. My own personal experience with abortion, and I don’t think we talk about this enough, abortion can be another word for mercy. We don’t know. We don’t know,” she calmly said of ending the life of the unborn.

“It’s not a world in which we know that no two pregnancies are alike, and it follows that no two lives are alike. That follows that no two conceptions are alike. So, how can we have a law? How can we have a point of view on this that says we must treat everything the same? And where I come at it from is when you allow for choice, you allow for flexibility, which is what we need in order to be human,” she finished in the clip.

Watch Hathaway calmly describe ending the life of the unborn as ‘merciful’ below:

Hathaway’s comments on both social media and ABC’s daytime program both relied heavily on her anti-life stance. In the Instagram post that set off the wave of cascading outrage from conservatives, she related the success of fictional characters in her big-city workplace to defend her views. “Looking back on photos of this beloved film that shaped the lives and careers of so many – mine included – I am struck by the fact that the young female characters in this movie built their lives and careers in a country that honoured their right to have choice over their own reproductive health.”

She would also add a suggestion that her work to enable as many abortions as possible was not done: “See you in the fight.” Her film ‘Days Of Thunder 2’ is slated for released in June of 2028.
