RINO Senator Gets Absolutely Destroyed By President Trump Over Opposition To Bill Passed By House, Supported By Americans

President Donald Trump unambiguously declared he wanted to see the decades-long practice of changing clocks twice annually for Daylight Savings Time come to an end. In the process, he also got in a dig at RINO Senator Tom Cotton for holding up a bill that would achieve this goal of both Trump, and according to most polls, a majority of the American people.

For context, the Republican-led House passed The Sunshine Protection Act in July of 2026. It passed with support from Democrats, 308-117 and would make permanent the current structure of Daylight Savings Time. After stalling in the Senate for months, Trump is reigniting the debate as both clock changes and the midterm elections loom closer. Speaking with reporters, he singled out opponents of the bill and said everyone in America is tired of going back and forth.

“The House voted it more than 80 percent. It’s been sitting up there, and hopefully we can get Tom Cotton to move. Tom Cotton is holding it. He shouldn’t be holding it. It’s an issue that people want. We had it a long time ago, but they used it for other purposes to get something else approved, and they gave it up,” the president said to reporters.

“But people want to have light in the evening, but really, what they want more than that, more than that by a lot, they don’t want to have to go around changing clocks. I have the same thing. Last time, six months ago, we’re changing clocks, and nobody changes clocks, and everybody’s late. It takes people. It discombobulates everybody, so we can finally have a vote,” he added. He also voiced his support in a monstrous Truth Social post that began with an absolute decimation of the Arkansas Senator seen as the figurehead of opposition. “Everybody in Arkansas, Tom Cotton, a friend of mine, is holding up a very important Bill. It’s called, “The Sunshine Protection Act” or, “We Don’t Want to Change Our Clocks Twice a Year Act.” For some reason, Tom is stopping the Bill and, in the Senate, it’s very easy to do, it only takes one! It should pass overwhelmingly, in a Bipartisan fashion. So, everyone in Arkansas, a State I love, and won 3 times, the last by by 34 points, tell Tom to, GET IT DONE!” the post began.

“It will be appreciated by all. Nobody wants to spend their precious time running all over the place, turning Clocks back twice a year and, having sunshine in the afternoon is better than early in the morning! The PGA TOUR, as an example, needs more Daylight in the afternoon in order to finish their Tournaments. Likewise, regular Golfers, Tennis Players, Hunters and, perhaps most importantly, Farmers who want more Daylight to play or work. See letter from Brian Rolapp, CEO of the PGA TOUR below. 65% PLUS want more sun in the afternoon, Daylight Saving Time (The way it is now!), but 100% don’t want to change their Clocks twice a year,” he added.

“They want to, as they say, “LOCK THE CLOCK!” Who doesn’t? It’s very expensive for our Nation where you have high and dangerous steeples to reach, like on churches and municipal buildings. Almost everybody wants “The Sunshine Protection Act” to pass, except for Tom Cotton. To the Great People of Arkansas, please let your Senator know it would be a GREAT Bipartisan WIN for the United States Senate, and for America, itself. Call Tom on his cellphone at, 479-453-0533, and let him know. “The Sunshine Protection Act” was passed in the House by a Vote of 308 to 117. HAVE THE SENATE VOTE, NOW!” he finished, hilariously sharing the phone number of the Senator.

In response, Cotton weakly wrote that his main reason for opposing the bill was to put the residents of his state first, while also adding that since bills have been passed and repealed before that it somehow makes the whole exercise moot.

“No one likes changing the clock, me included, but Congress has enacted permanent Daylight Savings Time multiple times before and repealed it each time once Americans experienced absurdly late sunrises in the winter. Arkansans don’t want their kids going to school in the pitch dark, and I’ll always put Arkansas first,” he wrote on X.
