Christian Hollywood A-Lister Asks Fellow Texans To Reconsider Vote For James Talarico

A Hollywood A-lister went mega-viral for his outspoken stance against James Talarico, Democrats’ Senate candidate against the Trump-endorsed Republican candidate Ken Paxton, whom he urged his fellow Texans to reconsider in a lengthy exhortation against the status quo. Just two weeks away from a critical midterm election contest, Christian actor Matthew McConaughey slammed the Establishment and asked Americans to think more critically about elections and the people seeking elected positions.

“So they’ve been telling us for years that an independent vote is a wasted vote. Well, a great question for our times is, how’s that unwasted vote been working out for you? Yeah. Now before we go any further, I want to let you know this is not about me right now. This is about the upcoming ballot, and I am not here today to to endorse a candidate or a party. I am here endorsing two things: fairness and reality,” the Oscar-winner began.

“See, I believe in a fair fight, and a fair fight is not just two fighters throwing the same punches at each other for 50 years. A fair fight is when the fighters who ought to be represented in the fight are actually in the fight. That’s fair. And here’s a fact: the number one political identity in America today is not Republican. It is not Democrat. It is independent. More of us than either party,” the star of Dallas Buyers Club continued

“So independents belong in the fight, not as a protest, not as a spoiler, but as a real and potential winner on the ballot and considered seriously by us. Now let’s clear something up about the word independent. Independent does not mean you’re middle of the road. Independent is the original road, before there was ever a Republican or a Democrat, there was an American,” he stated.

“Our birth certificate is not the Declaration of Compromise; it is the Declaration of Independence. And a true independent is not a fence sitter, mr. mrs. In Between. I don’t know how I feel. No, a true independent is not even against the R’s or the D’s. A true independent takes the best of both, and that’s not indecision; it’s judgment. So, why am I talking about this now? Well, because the system has never been more lopsided. In 2024, 87% of the U.S. House seats were effectively decided in party primaries by just 7% of eligible voters, 7%, and for most Americans, the real election is over before they ever even show up in November, and that’s not competition,” he noted.

“That’s more like a scrimmage, one team playing against itself, deciding the season for everybody else. Now, skeptics are going to say most independents still vote partisan anyway, and they do. In most races, the parties are the only real choice on the ballot, and the few eyes we have sent to Washington have always had to pick a door, an R door or a D door. Now that’s two doors, but no third,” he said.

“The truth of it is, we don’t know how many independents would vote for a true independent, organized, funded, owned by neither side, because no one has ever given us one. Here’s the math that the parties pray you never do. This Congress is one of the narrowest in modern history. In a Congress as close as this one, three to five true independents, ones who don’t caucus with either side, well, they’re not a minority; they’re the majority maker. Nothing passes without them. Every bill has to come through the middle, which means both parties would finally have to compete for the middle. Most of us think of it like football. The two parties want to play the whole game in their own end zones, right?” he went on.

“Well, independents keep the game between the 40s, where most of America actually lives. Independents don’t just have leverage; they actually are the leverage. Think of the eyes as the as the toll booth between an idea and a law. Every bill coming from the left or the right has to stop at that booth and answer one question: Does this make sense to the middle? The extreme stuff can’t can’t pay the toll. And pretty soon, both parties learn to write laws for where most of us actually live. Now, here’s why I’m saying this today, because guess what? Reality, well, it just changed,” he added.

“The reality is midterms are coming, and this November, in more places than ever, you do have more than two choices. And I’m not telling you who to vote for. I’m telling you to look at your ballot, study up, see if they represent you, what you believe in. Check if they can be that voice of reason in the middle for you, and if they can, treat them like a potential winner because they can be. That’s what fairness looks like. That’s what reality allows for the first time in a long, long time, not a third party to replace the other two. No, a permanent check to keep them both honest. America’s brand was never R or D. It’s independent. Enjoy yours. Just keep living,” he finished.
