Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan was honored and remembered by friends and family at a small, private service that took place at the church where he was baptized. Attendees reportedly included Kid Rock, Bam Margera, and WWE former co-CEO Stephanie McMahon, and more of Hogan’s friends and associates celebrated his life online.
For background, Terry Bollea, better known as Hulk Hogan, passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 71 after experiencing cardiac arrest. About 18 months prior to his passing, Hogan announced online that he had been baptized alongside his wife at Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Florida. On August 5, 2025, Hogan’s friends and family returned to Indian Rocks for a private funeral service.
Following the service, Hulk’s widow, Sky Daily Hogan, wrote a touching Instagram post, calling the celebration of Hogan’s life “one of the most beautiful and moving days I have ever experienced.” She added, “In the same church where we were married and baptized together, we gathered with family, friends, and loved ones to honor a life that touched millions.”
Continuing, Sky said that during the service, “The church was filled with stories…some that brought tears, others that made us laugh through those tears… and with every memory shared, you could feel the love that surrounded him.” She then explained, “Terry chose cremation knowing this physical life is temporary and his heavenly body eternal.”
In addition, Sky attached a video to her Instagram post that commemorated the Hulkster’s life and faith, saying, “The pastor of our church prepared this moving video for the service that reflects his unwavering Christian faith- a faith that anchored him and brought him peace every day.”
Furthermore, Hulk was honored online by the likes of President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. The president shared a photo of himself and Hulk arm wrestling, writing, “They are having the ‘Hulkster’s’ funeral today, and I thought everybody would enjoy seeing this picture.” Gov. DeSantis declared that August 1 would be “Hulk Hogan Day” in his state, calling Hogan “a true Floridian through and through.”
Moreover, on December 20, 2023, Hulk shared a video of himself and Sky being baptized during a ceremony at Indian Rocks Baptist, an experience that Hogan reflected on by saying, “Total surrender and dedication to Jesus is the greatest day of my life.” He added, “No worries, no hate, no judgment… only love!”
In response to Hulk’s baptism announcement, commenters celebrated and welcomed Hogan into the Church. Fr. Calvin Robinson wrote, “Welcome to the Church of Christ, brother. May God bless you.” Joel Berry of the satirical Christian news site The Babylon Bee also celebrated, simply writing, “BROTHER.”
