Actor Chris Pratt Says He Is Willing To Defend Christian Faith Even If It ‘Costs Me Everything’

As Hollywood mires itself in woke, godless hedonism, a rare unapologetic voice has emerged in megastar actor Chris Pratt, whose resume includes leading roles in the blockbuster franchises Jurassic World and Marvel, while also providing the voice in animated hits like Lego and Mario productions.

In one such case, a video recently emerged of the former ‘Parks and Rec’ comic relief man refusing to back down from his Christian faith. Showing how much his salvation matters, he made the point that he doesn’t need to wade into politics as it accomplishes nothing and alienates fans; however, with his faith he has a ‘take it or leave it’ attitude.

During a clipped appearance, video shows Pratt vehemently defending his views. “I don’t care enough about politics to take a stand one way or another, you know, at the expense of my career. But I do care enough about Jesus to take a stand, even if it costs me. If it could, it cost me everything,” he says as music plays in the background.

Going further, the actor said he was willing to sacrifice everything – fame and fortune – if it meant standing by his beliefs. “I don’t care. It’s worth it to me because, because it’s what I’m called to do, it’s where, it’s where my heart is. I’m a father of four. I want to raise my children up and in with an understanding that their dad was unashamed of his faith in Jesus, and with a profound understanding of the power of prayer and the grace and the love and the joy that can come from a relationship with Jesus.”

That’s something that’s really important to me, and anybody really close to me knows that already, but as people are learning that about me, it’s sort of it’s an interesting thing, because you don’t hear that a lot from people in entertainment, but it’s who I am. And I don’t think you know, I’m not going to hide behind it,” he continues.

As the video continues, it transitions to Pratt speaking about his faith, this time in front of an audience. “Nobody is perfect. People are going to tell you you’re perfect, just the way you are. You’re not. You are imperfect,’ he is seen saying. “You always will be, but there is a powerful force that designed you that way. And if you’re willing to accept that, you will have grace. And Grace is a gift. And like the freedom that we enjoy in this country, that grace was paid for with somebody else’s blood, do not forget it. Don’t take it for granted.”

The latter part comes from a viral 2018 moment at the MTV Movie and TV Awards where Pratt was being recognized for starring roles in the aforementioned Jurassic World and Marvel films. He began the speech by saying “God is real. God loves you. God wants the best for you. Believe that. I do.”

Making the 2018 remarks more impressive is that came during the first Trump administration as woke culture was in its stride and perhaps even peaking in American culture. Despite all of the noise, Pratt stood tall. As the Christian Tribune wrote previously on this particular speech:

“Actor Chris Pratt shocked both live and television MTV audiences with his unfiltered, raw, and unapologetic acceptance speech praising the Lord Jesus Christ. In passionate remarks from the stage, the former ‘Parks and Recreation’ star lectured woke Hollywood that no one is perfect and that everything good in their life comes from Christ’s ultimate sacrifice and God’s mercy.”
