A beautiful moment of faith and community transpired at a small Iowa diner as President Trump flew to the Midwest state to celebrate lower taxes and higher paychecks with his supporters. In what had the feel of a campaign event, the president visited a local eatery to shake hands with patrons when he was asked by one gentleman if he could pray for him.
The scene unfolded as Trump walked around the absolutely packed establishment. Many diners were sitting, while many more stood up to catch a glimpse and thank the 45th and 47th Commander-in-Chief. Stopping at one table of seated guests, a man looked up and inquired, “Can I pray for you real quick?”
Wasting no time, President Trump responded with conviction and affirmation. “Absolutely. Come on. Let’s go!” he said as he moved closer and joined his hands on the shoulders of others. He bowed his head with the crowded table of believers as the prayer commenced.
“Lord God, thank you for this President, Lord,” the unidentified Christian began. “Thank you for your hand in his protection. We pray for continued wisdom, pray for discernment, pray for health. Pray for MORE peace, Lord…”And just pray for protection against the world,” he continued, invoking heavenly protection for Trump to continue his great work.
Upon completion of the prayer, the table offered a resounding ‘Amen!’ and “Praise God’ as the President offered a compliment to the man leading the prayer. Watch the beautiful moment below:
The entire evening was filled with love and support at the Machine Shed, located in Urbandale, Iowa. Urbandale is close to the capital city of Des Moines and is described as a streetcar suburb. Located in both Dallas County and Polk County, the area was a toss-up in the 2024 presidential election, with the former carrying the winner by a margin of about 52-46% and the latter carrying the loser 55-44%.
Nevertheless, the crowd at the diner were all proud patriots of the America First movement and current White House resident. A separate video showed him receiving an incredible ovation upon entering the premises. Raucous cheering and clapping accompanied President Trump’s slow walk into the main hall of the diner. Watch that moment as well:
President Trump’s visit, while having a campaign feel to it, seems to be a kickoff for his support of Republican policies and messaging ahead of the looming midterm elections at the end of the year. Despite numerous administrative successes, polls and pundits suggest a tight race will unfold. And he was not in Iowa just to shake hands; the President also had a planned speaking event.
At the event, he delivered a reminder of how bad the country was under Joe Biden and reiterated that his policies were achieving remarkable success. “12 months ago, Joe Biden handed us a mess…Today, just after one year of President Trump, our economy is booming, incomes are rising, investment is soaring, inflation has been defeated, our border is closed…America is respected all over the world.”
