Candace Cameron Bure is the Christian actress who left the Hallmark channel over what she saw as content that did not comport with her Christian faith, joining the Christianity-based Great American Family channel instead. Bure has ke[t acting and promoting content for that faith-based channel, and recently was excited to announce its newest movie, part of its “Candace Cameron Bure Presents” series, Just in Time.
Set to release on March 26, Just in Time will follow a couple, Hannah and Rowan, who are trying to have a baby but are unable to do so, leading to pressure that weighs heavily on their relationship and leading them to question if they are right for each other. They then end up learning lessons in patience and approaching things in God’s time through a stranger and family heirloom. It will be the fourth film in the “Candace Cameron Bure Presents” series, Deadline reports.
Bure, the executive producer of the new movie, said, “In this stunningly aspirational Easter presentation, Laura Osnes and Peter Bryant will bring you to tears.” She continued, saying, “With the Candace Cameron Bure presents banner, we strive to deliver to our audience deep, meaningful, faith-filled entertainment of the highest quality.”
Joining her in celebrating and promoting the new film was Bill Abbott, the President and CEO of Great American Media. He said, “Candace Cameron Bure has a knack for finding beautifully crafted, meaningful stories that she and her team nurture into great family films.” He continued, “We are so proud to include the wonderful Laura Osnes in our family of talent and Just In Time is that little gem of a movie viewers will want to watch over and over for years to come.”
Bure, speaking to Christian Headlines about why creating faith-based films are important to her, said, “My faith has always been very important to me. While my movies haven’t been faith-based movies over the years, they were always just a stepping stone that if people wanted to look into who I am on a Candace Cameron Bure level — not a character that I’m playing — that [on] my website and when I would speak in interviews that I would be fully genuine and authentic in who I am as a Christian woman. And so that has always been a part of my life, really, since I’ve been in the business. And I’ve been in the business for over 40 years.”
Continuing, she added that such movies are more important than ever as America becomes more and more divided, saying, “As our country becomes more and more divided over social issues, it’s also become more important for me as a woman, as a mother, and a person in our industry to be able to have a voice for what’s important to me.” She continued, “And that’s my Christian faith. And so making movies that have more faith content has become more important to me as I’ve gotten older.”
