The Trump-led birthday celebration of America, a months-long campaign highlighting the 250th anniversary of independence on July 4th, 2026, continued to wow patriots with a beautiful moment of Christian music and prayer at one of the many events in the days leading up to the Fourth of July.
For context, the National Mall has been the site of ‘Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving.” It has hosted gatherings of faith leaders and Republican politicians all praising the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in a wonderful blend of religion and patriotism. Early in the days-long gathering, President Donald Trump marked the occasion to speak and read the story of Solomon’s Temple from the Bible.
And it was at the same ‘Rededicate 250’ that singer-songwriter Chris Tomlin took the stage to host a concert and revival of sorts. “What a way to officially kick off the 250 anniversary events in DC with “Rededicate 250” yesterday. Musicians like Chris Tomlin and religious speakers gathered with thousands on the National Mall to rededicate our country as One Nation Under God. They prayed for God’s guidance over the next 250 years,” wrote one account on X describing the experience.
“WOW! An absolutely incredible scene down at the National Mall today. Thousands of proud American Christians have gathered together to worship and sing in total harmony. I know Charlie would be absolutely thrilled to see this. Never let the left tell you otherwise—America is, and always will be, a Christian Nation!” conservative social media influencer Ryan Fournier added on Facebook.
Part of Tomlin’s performance was captured on video. His blend of energy and faith was on full display, and the incredible effect it had on participants was almost palpable through video. Hundreds of worshippers and patriots gathered to see Tomlin perform and participate in group prayer. Watch that moment below:
As mentioned, President Trump gave pre-recorded remarks as part of the rededication ceremony. As the Christian Tribune previously reported, “In the video, President Trump compares the work his administration has undertaken on such works as the ball room renovation, Rose garden upgrades, and reflecting pool restoration to that of King Solomon’s accomplishment in building a new house for the Lord.”
“And as for you, if you will walk before me as David, your father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and shall observe my statutes and my judgments, then will I establish the throne of my kingdom, according to as I have covenanted with David your father, saying, There shall not fail you as a man to be ruler in Israel, but if you turn away and forsake my statues and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods and worship them,” he read.
“And it shall be answered, because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore has He brought all this evil upon them,” Trump’s message concluded.
