Lynsi Snyder, the president of the well-loved In-N-Out Burger franchise, has announced that she is packing up and leaving California behind for Tennessee, explaining that the blue state was a difficult place to do business and raise a family, while expressing excitement about what lies ahead.

For background, on July 18, 2025, Lynsi Snyder, an outspoken Christian, appeared on the “Relatable” podcast hosted by Allie Beth Stuckey and explained that her family and business were moving from California to Franklin, Tennessee, an area south of Nashville. Snyder told Stuckey that doing business in California was “not easy” due to safety and legal concerns.

Speaking on “Relatable,” Snyder said that there are “a lot of great things about California,” but added, “Raising a family is not easy here.” She continued, “Doing business is not easy here.” The In-N-Out president went on to say that the state had imposed strict regulations on the company, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Continuing, Snyder explained that during the COVID-19 lockdowns, there were “so many pressures and just hoops we were having to jump through,” adding, ” “You’ve got to do this, you have to wear a mask, you gotta put this plastic thing up between us and our customers, and it was really terrible, you know. And I look back and I’m like, ‘Man, maybe we should have just pushed even harder on some of that stuff and dealt with all of the legal backlash.’”

In addition, Snyder told Suckey that when her uncle opened the IN-N-Out office in Irvine, California, Snyder’s father “came down to run the business,” going on to explain that the company had eventually moved to Northern California. Discussing the upcoming relocation, she said, “In every decision about the future of In-N-Out Burger, I give strong consideration to what my grandparents and my family would think is best for our company.”

Snyder went on to say that some of the members of the In-N-Out team “will be relocating to Tennessee,” adding that the staff migration “makes it even more important to centralize our western headquarters in one location.” She continued, “Our West Coast family will be together in one place, where In-N-Out Burger began.”

Importantly, Snyder has previously spoken openly about her faith, telling The Christian Post in 2019 that she had been inspired to follow God by her uncle. She explained, “It was my uncle Rich who put the Bible verses on the [In-N-Out] cups and wrappers in the early ‘90s, just before he passed away.”

Moreover, Snyder explained that at the time, her uncle “had just accepted the Lord and wanted to put that little touch of his faith on our brand.” She continued, “It’s a family business and will always be, and that’s a family touch. In later years, I added verses to the fry boat, coffee, and hot cocoa cups.”
