WWE superstar Hulk Hogan likely isn’t the first person many will think of when they think of faith and those in the entertainment industry who are Christians. But, ever since his December of 2023 baptism, Hogan has been a force for Christianity in public life, willing to speak out about his faith and how it has impacted his life in a very prominent way.
Such was the case yet again in an interview Hogan did with TBN, during which he discussed his view of how “Knowing of Jesus and knowing Him are two different things.” Using that point to make a broader one, Hogan encouraged viewers and listeners to build a personal relationship with Jesus instead of just being vaguely and generically Christian.
Speaking about his faith journey during the interview, Hogan said that he once was one of those who knew of rather than really knew Jesus, and that it took a long time before he fully surrendered himself to the Lord. He began, “I was always a believer, but I didn’t completely surrender.” He continued, “I thought I could drive better than He could. I thought I could make the decisions better than He could. And now He takes His hands off the wheel and says, ‘Okay. You think you can do it better, go ahead and do it.'”
Then, describing what led him to fully letting Jesus into his heart, Hogan said, “So, like I said, I got tired of crashing and burning, and at this point, with a 40-year career behind me, in that whole platform, I understand now that it was just a temporary situation to set me up for this next run.” He added, “And now that that run is over, I’m getting ready to this new run. Now I realize why I’m here and why all that happened.”
Commenting on the video, one person said, “Powerful truth..The valley happens for a reason to make us who we are today,..He turns setbacks into setups .. Being the vessel to spread His message is what is important.. So inspiring, Amen and Amen ♥️🥰🙏”
Another agreed with Hogan’s point about there being a major difference between truly knowing Jesus and only knowing of him, writing, “Really they are two different things. I remember watching your wrestles when I was a Kid. Thank God you find the One who is Life.🤍”

When Hogan was baptized, he said much the same thing about being totally committed to God and turning a new page in life. Doing so, he posted on social media that he was “one with God,” saying, “I accepted Christ as my savior at 14 years old. The training, prayers, and vitamins kept me in the game, but now that I am one with God, the main event theme of surrender, service, and love makes me the Real Main Event that can slam any giant of any size through the power of my Lord and Savior. And so it is, even now, brother, AMEN!”
