The Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate, James Talarico, received surprisingly blunt and harsh critique from the normally friendly airwaves of CNN as the nation turns its eyes toward the incredibly close matchup on the Republican side featuring incumbent John Cornyn and his opponent, the Lone Star State’s Attorney General Ken Paxton.
For context on the runoff, both Cornyn and Paxton failed to secure a majority of votes in the first round of primary voting in March of 2026. They entered a second primary, this one marked by a week of early voting that ends on May 22. Tuesday, May 26th, will be the final day when Texas Republicans finally decide on their next Senate hopeful.
On the other side of the ballot is the Christian in name only James Talarico. Talarico has been accused of using the bible to justify his ultra-woke and progressive worldview, defending the issue of transgenderism through a supposed biblical lens, among other things. He has stated that God Himself is ‘non-binary’ and that transgender-identifying children are ‘sacred’ in the eyes of God.
The Christian Tribune also previously reported on Talarico’s remarks that framed his conservative colleagues in the Texas State House as being less Christian than the non-Christians with whom he caucused. “I have met so many Hindus, Buddhists, Sikh, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, Agnostics who are more Christ-like than some of the Christians I served with in the Texas legislature,” he said in an absurd interview.
With that in mind, then, even CNN’s own panel during a recent conversation on the Texas Senate race had to call into question Talarico’s barely-Christian Christianity and its effect on actual Christian voters. Nia-Malika Henderson, no friend of the America First movement and regular wokester on the corporate media giant, went so far as to say that Christians of all backgrounds and races – regardless of political affiliation – might have a hard time with Talarico’s many stances and statements that run counter to biblical teachings.
“This is the race they’re going to run against him. It’s going to be total culture war race. They’re going to use that sort of sort of blunt a lane he thinks he has carved out around his Christian faith and his interpretation of Christianity. I think it’s going to be effective, you know,” she began in front of her in-studio peers.
“I guess one of his statements was something like, it’s not clear if Jesus or God was a man or a woman, or he contains both masculine femininity. That’s going to be a problem in Texas, and it’s going to be a problem for a lot of Christian voters, whether you’re Latino, black, or white. They don’t agree with that interpretation of the faith and of Christianity, and so I think you know he’s a vulnerable candidate in Texas,” she continued.
Interesting, as many voters across the nation reject longstanding RINO politicians, local news outlet The Texan noted that 2% of John Cornyn voters whom they polled recently said they would defect and actually vote for Talarico were Paxton to win the nomination. When asked the same question, 0% of Paxton voters said they’d do the same.
