Country Music Legend John Rich recently released his latest song, “Revelation,” which is unexpectedly topping charts among secular musical offerings. The song, which is based on the final book of the New Testament, the Book of Revelation, has jumped to the top of Apple’s iTunes country chart during its very first week of release. Furthermore, the faith-based tune has also jumped to the number two overall spot of all genres.
Rich posted on X, “BIG NEWS: #Revelation is #1 on the country charts, and #2 in all genres! I’m so glad the song has impacted you all in such a positive way! I’m humbled by your support. If you don’t have it yet, the post below has the links to the download and video. Feel free to share, God bless!” He added, “My new song #REVELATION is out today! This is the most important song I’ve ever written. I hope it brings strength to the saved, conviction to the lost, and fear to the wicked. If the Spirit moves you, please repost!”
The Christian Tribune recently reported on a podcast appearance Rich made with conservative media icon Tucker Carlson, where he gave further insight to how and why he wrote the biblically influenced song. According to the country artist he felt a divine calling from God to write and release the song, as to combat the satanic practices in the secular music industry and broader American culture.
“I was at home in Nashville, not even thinking about writing a song, when suddenly it felt like a hammer hit me in the back of the head,” the singer said, detailing the instant he felt inspired to write the song. “When the Lord slaps you upside the head with something, you have a physical reaction to it,” he stated. “The message I felt coming back to me was, ‘Take it all the way to the mat.’”
Rich blasted the overtly anti-Christian behavior that can be observed throughout the music industry, asserting that they place satanic imagery virtually everywhere. “They are practicing witchcraft on the stage right in front of you. You’re watching a football game or an award show with your kids, and now evil is coming straight at you. We’ve all seen this. Somebody has to counter that,” he added.
Further explaining his motivation behind the song, Rich told Breitbart News Daily on Sirius XM Patriot 125, Mike Slater, “I wanted this song to come out now in the middle of 2024 as I believe a lot of people are starting to turn back to the Book, to the pages of the Bible to try to find some type of answer, some type of real truth.”
Throughout the interview, Rich noted that he had low expectations for the song, despite its recent chart-topping success. “I don’t expect it to be played on the radio and thats not the point,” he added. “When you see that video, when you hear it, if it strikes you as my dad would say, if the spirit moves you, you’ve got a little button there, you just forward that thing on to the people who are following you. That’s how this thing gets moved around.”
