Vice President JD Vance delivered powerful remarks that elicited a standing ovation as he honored a 7-year-old girl left permanently disabled after an illegal alien driving a truck slammed into her car. The Trump administration has made this precious girl a staple of their campaign to rid the United States of dangerous illegal alien drivers on American roadways.
For context, on the day of the accident a five-year-old girl named Delilah Coleman was riding as a passenger in a vehicle hit by a semi-truck going 60 miles per hour and driven by an illegal alien. The state of California issued the native of India a CDL. The driver was later identified as Partap Singh. Delilah’s ordeal was highlighted by President Donald Trump during his 2026 State of the Union address, and in this case, by the vice president during a campaign rally. A law bearing the victim’s name was introduced to Congress that would mandate English-only exams and eliminate the possibility of licenses being issued to illegal aliens.
“I want to just give one more shout out because I believe that we are honored to have the amazing and beautiful Delilah here with us today. Now Delilah is a five-year-old little girl, and she was actually nearly killed. Thank God she wasn’t, by an illegal alien truck driver who was on the road despite not being properly qualified,” Vance said during the stump speech.
“Now, Delilah has been through a lot of surgeries, and she’s made an amazing comeback, and she’s going to make a still more amazing comeback. But she was in a coma for three weeks in the hospital because the last administration let a lowlife drive on the road who had no business being in this country, and certainly no business being on the roadways with a semi truck on the streets of our country,” he went on.
“So let’s give it up for Delilah, an amazing little girl of amazing bravery. God bless you, man. Just an amazing thing and an amazing miracle that Delilah is here with us today, and God love you to her family and to Delilah. Thank you for being here, and thank you to all of you for helping us elect a generation of leaders that are going to fight for the Delilahs of this state instead of against them. This is, ladies and gentlemen, politics is not rocket science,” he finished.

Delilah’s father has also not been quiet about the avoidable accident. He appeared in front of Congress blasting Democrats for their cowardice in standing up for Americans, outright rejecting their theatrical sympathy and saying he would always hold them accountable.
“How is that okay? How are you guys not fighting for this, right here? How are you guys not fighting for this? I reject your guys’ sympathy,” he began in his remarks. “To be honest with you, there’s no way you guys are sorry. Not one of you guys have ever called me. Not one of you guys have ever reached out to me. Not one of you guys have ever sat there and seen me in the hallways and said, ‘Hey, sorry about your daughter,’” he said at one point.
“You guys do it right here while you guys are grandstanding on top of your soapbox. This is when you guys care. Right here inside this room is the only time you guys care. I’ve never received anything from anybody over here at all regarding my daughter or my family or anything. Hey, mr. Coleman, your guys’s Delilah Law. I want to help you revise it so that we were interested inside of it. Nothing,” he continued.
“It makes no sense at all. My daughter doesn’t deserve this. She didn’t ask for any of this. The people that jumped the fence did though. They knew exactly what they were doing. They still chose to move forward in that direction. And every day something’s happening to somebody, and it is your guys’ fault. I hold each and every one of you responsible for it, and I always will,” he later stated.
