In a recent sermon, Rev. Dr. Ronald L. Slaughter attacked Elon Musk for his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) role. Musk has fired many federal workers, ended grants, and offered buyouts to bureaucrats. Rev. Dr. Slaughter aimed the CEO for putting American security at risk. Despite his impassioned rant, many online commentators mocked him for his hypocrisy.
“Sisters and brothers, I think we all can commonly come to an agreement this afternoon that we are certainly living in some dark times,” the African Methodist Pastor began. ” I mean, all across the nation and even across the world, those of us that are attentive to the news, which I’ll say more about in a few minutes, how we have to digest just a little bit of it, but too much of it can give you indigestion.”
“I don’t know about you, but I was glancing at the television, and I heard someone who’s supposed to be the leader of the… free world [saying] that he was going to turn the Gaza Strip into a resort,” the pastor said with more passion than grammar. “Basically, that’s taking over 2 million people that look like us in this sanctuary, and moving them out and sending them on their way to somewhere.”
“So you are going to put up some resorts there and all of those things? And people are trying their best today to navigate dark times. Federal workers are being forced to sign buyouts for those who have put their lives on the line for years,” Slaughter added. ” Those that have put their life on the line for decades and now having to be offered buyouts or to be forced out of their job by a man that founded Tesla.”
“The intelligence community and even the surveillance agencies of this nation are being forced to take their attention off of the threats that seek to destroy our freedom, and now instead, have to focus on the survival of their families, the survival of their careers and the survival of their finances,” the woke pastor said to conclude his rant.
“These guys are literally Deep State talking points propagandists. How this passes for sermon content is beyond me. Why are there no discernment ministries run by … Christians that call out this kind of nonsense in … churches?” noticed one commenter. “Think of all the paper cuts these valiant warriors have endured,” one account humorously reacted.
“I wonder how many in the audience, upon hearing this impastor’s homily, repented, believed the gospel promise, and presented themselves for baptism? Or how many repented and made a vow to pursue Christian maturity as a disciple of Jesus?” said another commenter. Another user asked, “How much is this church getting from USAID or any government agency/program… or… Democrats?”

According to his website, “Pastor Slaughter, along with the great people of Saint James, have been working to develop a family-oriented atmosphere, embracing the vision of God, and living out the Vision Statement of “Making Disciples, Building Families, and Meeting Needs.” While it mentions his commitment to charity, nothing about the Deep State is on that page.
