In a clip that went viral on social media, Samson Ohda, a DJ and pastor, defended his presence at a strip club. In the short clip, he recounts a conversation where a friend objected to him attending adult establishments. He defended his action as representing ‘God’s love.” Online commenters were quick to mock the Nigerian pastor for his actions.
‘This is pastor Samson Ohda. A question: was I wrong being in the strip club praying for potential members?” he asked in a somewhat confusing post. ” I was wrong for that? Because I was asking a friend of mine, like, “Oh, you wrong in this and this!” and “I’m like, no. God loves everybody. And you want to spread that love to everybody.” So was that wrong? Please, somebody told me.”
According to his personal website, Ohda works in the entertainment industry as well as the pulpit. “Samson Ohda, better known by his stage name Official OdBeats, is a Zaria Kaduna state born Nigerian American musician, singer/songwriter, sound engineer, and record producer based in San Antonio, TX,” he wrote amaturishly. ” He is also the Owner of Ohda Studios which is a photo & video company and the owner of Ohda Record Label.”
Online commentators were quick to mock his absurd question. “Preaching INSIDE? No. You got caught; lied about preaching. Repent. Preaching outside? Good job. Carry on,” one user pointed out. “Praying for “potential members?” Yes. Cause you can do that from the parking lot. Also, “potential members?” I think you meant lost souls,” one person responded.
“Stay away from the dens of iniquity unless you just want a lame excuse to give in to your temptations. And he’d be using parishioner money (or a gubmint handout that is intended for his church) to pay the entrance fee and to pay the strippers (you can’t stay for free),” another account on X pointed out. One commenter said, “You don’t need to go into the den of vipers to pray for them. It honestly sounds like an excuse to look at the…wares on display.”
We recently reported on, another pastor with similar struggles. Robert Burale is one of the most famous pastors in Kenya. Burale, who has also worked as an author and actor, recently made headlines for a shocking confession. The African pastor admitted to a major addiction to strip clubs, which caused him to spend a large amount of money chasing this addiction.
“It was a lack of identity, it was not because I was under the spirit of lust and immorality. It was a lack of identity, and when you go to the strip club, the women under some few coins will make you feel like you are the King of Zamunda because they are dancing and giving you all the attention that you need,” the pastor and motivational speaker said during a televised interview.
“Strippers love tall people because when they dance, they have a lot to look at,” he insightfully added. “The work of a stripper is to bedevil you and capture you in the spirit. The game they play is a very spiritual thing. They sit on your lap dance and never take away their eyes off you then you leave the strip club saying you will never come back here again,” said the pastor.

“But when you go to bed, that is the thing that reminds you in your mind, and you are, oh my goodness, I need to go back there tomorrow,” Burale said to describe his addiction. “There is one night I spend Ksh100,000 ($780) on a strip club.” He concluded by saying, “So you leave home on a Wednesday night and the next time you are going is on Friday so on Thursday there is nobody to make you feel like that so you have to look for money to go back there on Friday for another woman to make you feel the same.”
