Speaking during an interview on the “Jesus Calling” podcast, “Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson spoke out about how the Bible says one should share the Gospel and on how he relies on its teachings when trying to share his Christian faith with others.
He said, CBN News reports, when speaking about how he turns to the Bible when in need of answers to all of life’s questions, “Whether I’m studying the Bible with someone and trying to teach someone, or if I’m just literally trying to figure out some of the answers to life, I always just go into the Bible and see what it says.”
Continuing, he explained what the Gospel says about sharing it, saying, “John 4 is like a masterclass on how this can happen. Jesus is talking to a woman at a well, and in that day and age, He probably shouldn’t have even been talking to her. But He does, and I think a lot of times we can share with someone part of the gospel before we even tell people what it is just by how we treat them and how we show we care about them.”
Continuing, he said, “Everybody’s got a story. And for a lot of people, they need to share that story and who they are. Jesus certainly did that with her story. And then by the time the chapter ends up, the whole village had come to know Jesus. She had come to know Jesus. And I can trace that back, it started with this question, ‘Can I get a drink of water?’ And so that’s how simply it can happen.”
This isn’t the first time Robertson has spoken about sharing the Gospel. Posting recently on Instagram about his new book, Gospeler, which is about sharing the faith, Robertson wrote, “Do you have hesitations or doubts about sharing your faith? Most of us have struggled with this a time or two. In my new book, Gospeler, I share personal stories and insights that will empower you to engage in meaningful conversations about Jesus with those around you. From celebrating your spiritual heritage to embracing conversational evangelism, this book is packed with inspiration and guidance to help you share the gospel with confidence and authenticity.”
He added, “And guess what? Along with the book, we created an accompanying 64-page booklet that you can use to share the gospel with others in a simple and accessible format. It’s a simple, small book that you can hand out to anyone curious about Jesus. The world needs the Gospel now more than ever. People are looking for answers and looking for hope. We have that as believers and it’s time to share it with others.”
