Famous Actress Explains How Faith Has Helped Her Parenting

Famous actress Danica McKellar recently illustrated how her faith in God has helped her become a better parent to her son.  McKellar explained that she used to spend time anxious and stressed about how to handle the struggles of parenthood.  However, after she came to faith several years ago her perspective entirely changed.

“Faith guides everything, including parenting,” McKellar said. “For me, my faith journey has led me to the most comforting place of knowing that I can consult with God at any time,” she added describing the supernatural peace that comes along with trusting in God.

McKellar further described how reading the word of God has completely changed her life. “This is so comforting to me to have this other guiding force in my life,” she said.  “When Bible scripture is mentioned in church, I know what it is now.”

The actress outlined how a rock solid foundation centered around God can carry one through any period of struggle.  “Having that relationship, having that faith, means that when trials and tribulations happen, because they still happen … knowing it’s in God’s hands, means that even when things happen that I don’t think I want to have happen, I can say ‘well let me be curious about this and wonder what the big plan is that I can’t see,’” she said.

“It’s incredible what that perspective shift does for you,” McKellar added, further illustrating the positive impact of faith. “It’s been an amazing journey … since I found the Lord.” She continued, “It changed my life.  I don’t know what happened. Some people say the Holy Spirit came to me. All I know is that I knew I became a believer, and it was the most wonderful, transformative moment.”

Earlier this year, McKellar recounted her coming to faith in Jesus Christ and her experience when the Holy Spirit came over her and completely changed her life moving forward.  “It changed my life,” McKellar said. “I don’t know what happened.”

She added, “Some people say the Holy Spirit came to me. All I know is that I knew I became a believer, and it was the most wonderful, transformative moment. I was flooded with this knowingness, and I have such peace from that still after two years, and I’m so grateful for it.”

McKellar took to social media sharing her experience reading the Bible and how it has shaped her outlook.  “Every day for over a year now, I’ve listened to this incredible woman’s voice, guiding me through my Bible Journey,” McKellar said. “… For anybody looking to deepen (or start!) a journey through the Bible, I can’t recommend @thebiblerecap highly enough as a beautiful & clarifying guide.”
