Former OnlyFans Recruiter Leaves Porn Industry, Turns to Jesus

Victoria Sinis used to run a recruiting agency for content creators on OnlyFans, a website that allows for the consumption of personalized, subscription-based pornography.  With a strong background in business and marketing, starting such a company seemed like a profitable venture.  However, after being exposed to the realities of the pornography industry, Sinis was ultimately led to Christ.

“I really didn’t have much knowledge about what OnlyFans was,” Sinis told The Christian Post. “I had never watched porn in my life, and even now, for a lot of people, there is still an enigma around OnlyFans.” She added, “People think, ‘Oh, you can just sell your feet on there,’ or ‘I think it’s liberating,'” speaking about the misconceptions around the platform.

“And so for me, I was like, ‘OK, these girls that were doing OnlyFans came from poor backgrounds and, on the surface level, it seems like they’re happy. It seems like they’re making good money, so this must be something positive.'” She further explained their business model, stating, “And then, as an agency, we had these things called levels.  When you came into an agency, we told you what your baseline standard was.”  Each successive level would become increasingly explicit and perverse.

However, Sinis illustrated how women became incentivized to explore increasingly “twisted” and perverse fantasies embraced by subscribers.  “Soon enough, the video is not going to be enough,” she said. “And they’re actually going to want to put someone in danger or hurt them because they now need to act out this fantasy because we’re feeding into these sick and twisted requests.”

While Sinis wasn’t raised in a religious family, she claimed to have always had a belief in God. “I’ve always just had this thing in my heart,” Sinis said. “I never denounced God. There was always that underlying sense ‘I knew that God was real. I knew that God existed.'”

As she grew progressively frustrated with her job she attended a church service where she was introduced to Melinda Tankard Reist, a director for the anti-sexual exploitation group Collective Shout.  Thereafter, she had a conversation with Reist who opened her eyes to the reality of the porn industry.  Sinis soon quit her job and rediscovered her faith in God while founding Creating Gems, a company that exposes the reality of platforms like OnlyFans.

The Christian Tribune reported on the testimony of former porn star-turned-pastor Joshua Broome who left the industry and found Christ as well.  “I came to a point where I believe I’ve ruined my life, and the only option I have is to continue doing the thing that caused the destruction in my life.  And I tried to make the best of the chaos. And I thought, well, if I become the most successful, the richest, the person with the most accolades in this industry, while this might not be what I want to do, if I become the best at what I’m doing, maybe then I’ll feel happy. I’ll feel wanted, I’ll feel loved,” Broome said.

“So for me, in that moment, I surrendered and submitted to the fact that I could not fix myself. There was a God that loved me so much that He sent His Son into this world to suffer and die so that he could bridge the gap that I could never bridge. And something happened in my heart for me. I surrendered my life, and I let go of the burden that I’ve been carrying and the relationship with the father that I always desired. I realized I had through Christ and so, so that happened that week after and so two things happened,”  he added.
