Freshman Congressman Brandon Gill (R-TX) delivered a resounding victory to America First patriots with the introduction of a bill meant to halt migration from the third-world nation of Somalia. The Trump administration has focused much of its rhetoric against societal problems stemming from both immigration as a whole and fraud against the system specifically on Somali migrants.
For context, Representative Gill introduced a bill called the Somalia Immigration Moratorium Act. He cited the inability of Somali migrants to assimilate to a very different way of life and value system in the United States, while also referring to the rampant fraud and abuse of the taxpayer-funded welfare state as reason enough to ban future immigration.
“Notwithstanding any other provision of law, except as provided in subparagraph (B), no alien may be issued a visa or provided any status under the immigration laws, until 25 years following the date of enactment of the Somalia Immigration Moratorium Act,” Gill’s legislation succinctly states. The bill is co-sponsored by Andy Biggs and Clay Higgins.
Addressing the bill, Gill took to the House floor and gave the rationale for such a needed stopgap. “Mr. Speaker, a core part of American sovereignty is the ability to determine who’s able to enter our country, and the sole purpose of our immigration system is to benefit American citizens. That’s why today, I introduced a bill that would implement a Somalia immigration moratorium,” he opened.
“Mr. Speaker, we’ve seen the multi billion dollar Somalia fraud scandal just in the past week, and Americans are furious. And the reality is that Somalian immigration makes American less prosperous, less safe and less culturally cohesive. 78% of Somali immigrants in Minnesota alone receive welfare benefits even after being in the United States for 10 years or longer,” he went on, before commenting on other issues related to mass importing people from around the world.
“Somali men commit crimes at rates significantly higher than Americans, and only about half of Somali immigrants can speak English very well again, even after being in our country For over a decade. The reality is that Somalis, Somalia’s clan based society is unassimilable into American society. It’s time to put the American people first, and I urge the house to support my bill,” Gill added.

In a follow-up interview, Gill hilariously describes the reaction of the lone Somali representative in Congress, Minnesota’s resident ingrate Ilhan Omar. Omar has had the spotlight shone on her in the wake of Somali migrant fraud and her possible connections to it, as well as after both President Donald Trump and JD Vance asserted her immigration to the United States was also fraudulent.
Gill says Omar threw a massive tantrum from her seat in Congress as Gill was giving his remarks, screaming just as she was during Trump’s wildly popular State of the Union address. “She was in the audience, and she was screaming. I could barely hear what she was saying, but she was … calling me names and all kinds of stuff,” he described.
