Jim Caviezel, the star of the blockbuster 2023 movie “Sound of Freedom,” spoke in a recent interview with TBN about how God called him to follow a career in acting, and how he decided to dedicate that career to God by making content for faithful Christians, content that is both moral and faith-based. Cavaziel also starred in Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ,” in which he plays Jesus.

As background, “Sound of Freedom” tells a real-life-inspired story, that of Tim Ballard, who worked to rescue children around the world who are being sex-trafficked. In the movie, Cvaziel, playing Ballard, takes on a notorious human trafficking operation in South America, freeing the children from the predators’ clutches. The movie helped raise awareness about the massive sex trafficking operating afflicting the world.

Speaking about how God filled him with hope and faith when he was in a movie theater, Cavaziel said, “He came to me in a movie theater and made me feel like I was the only child that He had, that He loved me that much.” Continuing, Cavaziel told TBN. “There was this peace I never felt, and then He said, ‘I’d like you to become an actor.’”

He then explained that he felt surrounded by love and felt God’s love in that moment, saying, “I was surrounded by this love from heaven, and I could feel how much He loved me.” He added that it is what led him to want to create faith-based content for Hollywood.

Explaining what those movies are about and why they are important, Cavaziel said, “I wanted to make movies that had a redeemable quality.” Continuing, he added that it is for such a reason that he entered the movie industry and that he has dedicated his career to the Lord, saying, “That’s why I was called into this business. I gave my career to Jesus.”

This isn’t the first time that Cavaziel has spoken about his faith. Speaking with Jet Set Magazine, for example, he spoke about looking forward to creating more Christian content that tells the story of redemption, saying, “I’m looking forward to making more films that tell stories that bring characters to some sense of redemption. At this phase in my career, I want to make sure the writing is strong and the creative team is top-notch so that I continue to grow, too.”

Cavaziel also has spoken in support of former President Donald Trump. For example, he said, in a tweet, “President Trump is going to save Children the likes of which you have never seen! You might even say he is the new Moses telling Pharaoh (World Cabal) to let the children Go Free! Mr. President …. You are The “New” Moses!… but I’m still Jesus 😉 ”
