Taking to Truth Social, President Donald Trump posted a message celebrating Holy Week. These holiday announcements have become a tradition for Trump, and his 2025 post is significantly more relaxed than the one from the year prior, when then-candidate Trump epically blasted Joe Biden and the Democrats.
As background, Holy Week is the week leading up to Easter, and is celebrated by the majority of Christians worldwide and widely considered the most essential part of the Church calendar. It begins with Palm Sunday, commemorating Christ’s entry into Jerusalem, and includes Maundy Thursday (Last Supper) and Good Friday (Crucifixion). It culminates in Easter, which celebrates the Resurrection of Christ.
Beginning his April 13, 2025 annoucment, the president said, “THIS Holy Week, Christians around the World remember the Crucifixion of God’s Only Begotten Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and, on Easter Sunday, we celebrate His Glorious Resurrection and proclaim, as Christians have done for nearly 2,000 years, “HE IS RISEN!””
Building on that point, Donald Trump explained the true meaning of the holiday. He said, “Through the pain and sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, we saw God’s boundless Love and Devotion to all Humanity, and, in that moment of His Resurrection, History was forever changed with the Promise of Everlasting Life.”
Continuing his 2025 remarks, the president explained that America is a Christian nation. Trump stated, “As we approach the joyous Easter Sunday, I want to wish Christians everywhere a Happy and very Blessed Holiday. America is a Nation of Believers. We need God, we want God, and, with His help, we will make our Nation Stronger, safer, greater, more Prosperous, and more United than ever before. Thank you, and HAPPY EASTER!”
Trump’s most recent Holy Week posts stand in stark contrast to his previous statements. Last year, Trump said, “HAPPY EASTER TO ALL, INCLUDING CROOKED AND CORRUPT PROSECUTORS AND JUDGES THAT ARE DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO INTERFERE WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2024, AND PUT ME IN PRISON.”
Continuing his statement, the president hammered away at his critics, saying, “INCLUDING THOSE MANY PEOPLE THAT I COMPLETELY & TOTALLY DESPISE BECAUSE THEY WANT TO DESTROY AMERICA, A NOW FAILING NATION, LIKE “DERANGED” JACK SMITH, WHO IS EVIL AND “SICK,” MRS. FANI “FAUNI” WADE, WHO SAID SHE HARDLY KNEW THE “SPECIAL” PROSECUTOR, ONLY TO FIND THAT HE SPENT YEARS “LOVING” HER.”
Speaking to the unfair lawsuit he was embroiled in then, Trump blasted Joe Biden’s DOJ. He said, “LONG BEFORE THE GEORGIA PERSECUTION OF PRESIDENT TRUMP BEGAN (AND THEREBY MAKING THE CASE AGAINST ME NULL, VOID, AND ILLEGAL!), AND LAZY ON VIOLENT CRIME ALVIN BRAGG WHO, WITH CROOKED JOE’S DOJ THUGS, UNFAIRLY WORKING IN THE D.A.’s OFFICE, ILLEGALLY INDICTED ME ON A CASE HE NEVER WANTED TO BRING AND VIRTUALLY ALL LEGAL SCHOLARS SAY IS A CASE THAT SHOULD NOT BE BROUGHT, IS BREAKING THE LAW IN DOING SO (POMERANTZ!).”
Concluding his remarks, Trump defended himself while wishing his followers a happy Easter. Trump said, “WAS TURNED DOWN BY ALL OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES, AND IS NOT A CRIME. HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!”
