Comedian Tim Allen shared some of 2026’s most inspiring words in a recent social media post upon the announcement he had completed his 13-month journey of reading the Bible word-for-word and from beginning to end. Allen had been providing updates since the 2025 resolution of sorts commenced, and he summarized the entire experience as humbling.
“Finished the entire Bible it’s been a 13 month word by word page by page no skimming journey,” the ‘Home Improvement’ star posted to X. “Humbled, enlightened and amazed at what I read and what I learned. I will rest and meditate on so much. I will begin it again.”
Allen’s accomplishment elicited praise and support from fans and followers on the internet. Echoing his closing thought on preparing to start all over, one user noted that the second time is even better than the first.
“The second time reading the Bible is the richest,” commented a person on X under his original post. “The first time you read the Bible you read to find something relatable about your own life. The second time you read to know God.”
Others shared their own experiences with having succeeded in reading the entire Christian holy book. “When I retired in 2018 I told myself that there was no reason I shouldn’t read through the Bible. So here it is 2026 and I am starting my ninth year of reading through the Bible. I never cease to be amazed at what God reveals each day I pick it up,” a user said.
“Best decision of my life was to start reading the Bible every year. I started in 2020. The more I read the stronger my faith grows,” added another. Many others simply passed along their praise for committing to the arduous task and following through. “For those who are aware this is an accomplishment, reading the entire Bible ‘word by word’ and page by page isn’t for the weak. Great job Mr. Allen,” added a fourth user.
Allen’s journey to God was never easy, losing his father at the age of 11 to a drunk driver. He has shared on previous podcasts that the experience understandably set him down a dark path. His father died in his mother’s arms and he had brothers who were tossed around the car amidst the deadly accident as well.
He said the additional burden of being told to ‘man up’ at his young age to support his mother and to not cry also imposed hardships on him. Allen struggled with the idea of a just God after suffering so much. His life took further downward turns after drug busts and jail time for slinging cocaine.
Still, the word of God and the Christian community in America led him to his own salvation. Inspired by Erika Kirk’s forgiving of her husband Charlie Kirk’s assassin in September of 2025 made him realize it was okay to let go of resentment and hurt. Following her lead, he said he also forgave his father’s drunk driving killer in a separate post to X.
“When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: ‘That man… that young man… I forgive him.’ That moment deeply affected me. I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad. I will say those words now as I type: ‘I forgive the man who killed my father.’ Peace be with you all,” he wrote in a post seen by over 12 million people.
