As over a billion Christians around the world prepare for Easter weekend, thousands upon thousands of them from around the world will be gathering for a virtual worship service hosted by Pulse. Pulse is a global ministry that aims to reach millennials around the world, and this year it will be hosting its fifth annual Good Friday Global Broadcast.
That broadcast, meant to celebrate Christ’s sacrifice and its power, featured Nick Hall, a famed evangelist, and numerous Christian musicians, namely Steven Curtis Chapman and Miel San Marcos. It took place on Good Friday at 8 am EST, and was accessible in more than 30 languages to people in a whopping 100 countries around the world.
Hall, speaking about the service, encouraged people to think about the global applications of Christ’s sacrifice and the implications of that. Beginning, he said, “As we gather digitally this Good Friday, we are reminded that Jesus offers grace and compassion to anyone all over the world, not just those who are from a particular background or culture.”
Continuing, Hall called on people from around the globe to unite in prayer on Good Friday, saying, “It speaks to the hearts of a global community, offering hope, redemption, and a new beginning. I cannot wait to join people from all over the world as we unite in prayer and worship, experiencing the grace and power of Jesus’ love in a profound and meaningful way.”
Further, Hall reminded the audience that the lesson of Easter and the Gospel is that no one, no matter what they have done, is so far from God’s grace as to be unsaveable. He said, “no matter how far they may have strayed, the love of God pursues and rescues them.” Similarly, the ministry declared, “His words will serve as a powerful reminder of the grace and forgiveness found in the sacrifice of Jesus.”
Hall also spoke about a new initiative that Pulse is sponsoring called Anthem of Grace. The initiative, which will last from April of 2024 to April of 2025, will collect messages from people around the world describing how God’s infinite grace has touched their lives. In addition to sending in their stories, those with testimonies about God’s grace can send in a video of themselves singing the beautiful “Amazing Grace” hymn.
Hall, speaking about the initiative and what it means, said, “Anthem of Grace is a celebration. I believe that 2,000 years ago, God unleashed this Anthem of Grace when Jesus died on the cross and defeated our death when he rose from the grave.”
Continuing, he explained, “When that happened, literally a chorus of humanity was unleashed to celebrate, not that we are good enough, but that God has overcome the grave and made a way for us.” Pulse, for its part, said, “This campaign is a reminder that grace is not just a concept—it is a reality found in a person, Jesus.”
