“My Faith Is Incredibly Important to Me”: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Opens Up About Christian Beliefs

In an inspiring interview, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt spoke openly about her Christian faith, saying that her firm belief in Christ is what gets her through the challenging days of being both a mother and a full-time member of the Trump Administration who speaks for the president on a regular basis.

As background, in a March 31, 2025, interview with CBN’s David Brody, Karoline Leavitt shared about how her faith drives her life, explaining what it takes to deal with the demands of what Brody called “24/7 job and 24/7 mom life,” an experience that Leavitt said has helped her understand the importance of faith “more than ever.”

In the interview, Leavitt said that in the “demanding and controversial” role of press secretary, her faith had become “incredibly important.” She explained, “Without faith, it would be difficult. With faith, all things are possible. My Catholic education taught me discipline. I went to a Catholic college—St. Anselm in New Hampshire—which further deepened my faith and introduced me to politics and news.”

Continuing, Leavitt explained that being in a group of people that “embraced faith and talked about it openly” while she was in college helped her grow as a Christian, adding, ” It was encouraging to be around peers who weren’t afraid to go to church or talk about their beliefs. That kind of environment supports a faith journey.”

In addition, the press secretary told Brody that she prayed before every White House press briefing, saying, “My team and I are preparing all morning, talking to experts and even the president to get a sense of the news. The team prayer is a moment to be still and ask God for confidence, clarity, knowledge, and protection. It grounds me before I go out there.”

Moreover, Brody asked Leavitt if she believed in “spiritual warfare,” which he described as “good vs. evil.” In response, Leavitt said she did, explaining, “Yes, I believe in spiritual warfare. I saw it firsthand during the campaign. I believe the president was saved by the grace of God in Butler, Pennsylvania, and that he’s in this moment for a reason.”

Furthermore, Leavitt explained that she believed that “God has a plan for everyone,” telling Brody that although she had lost the general election when she ran for Congress, the loss had led her “to work on the president’s campaign and now serve as press secretary.” She added, “I trust that God knew what He was doing.”

Leavitt also said that she believed that President Trump was part of what Brody called “a spiritual revival among young people,” saying that the president “believes in young people and is working to make America better for future generations.” She continued, “His values—faith, family, freedom—are resonating with young people.” Leavitt said that under President Trump, the administration was spreading “God’s message” across the country.
