“No More Yard Signs!”: Irate Father Blasts Uselessly Woke City Council After String Of Somali Gang Violence Tears Through Community

An outraged father in the Minnesota suburb of Edina let loose on the city’s cravenly woke city council after a slew of gang violence tore through the affluent community and surrounding areas. He blasted useless Democrat practices such as putting up yard signs and hosting ‘community conversations’ with the offending parties as he demanded a more realistic approach to safety.

For context, much of the gang violence witnessed in the last week as stemmed specifically from Somali youths. Minnesota has become a national hotbed of debate over its sizeable population of Somali migrants, many of whom are caught up in the migrant fraud scandal that has defrauded the state out of billions of tax dollars. Now, formerly secluded areas such as Edina and Eden Prairie have witnessed schools and parks as host sites for intra-Somali gang violence. Eden Prairie’s homecoming game and dance were canceled, and now Edina parks were closed over shots fired.

“Today we’re here in person, so good because accountability matters. I’m going to be very direct. I’m here because I care about Edina, care about this community, care about solving the problem, and I don’t really care about making people comfortable talking about it. So, mr. Mayor, you mentioned the shooting at ENC, and you hope that it won’t happen again. Well, hope is not a plan,” he began.

“I’ll start with a question: Are you prepared to directly confront what is happening, even when the facts are not politically uncomfortable or make you politically uncomfortable? Referring to these shootings as gun violence is misleading, grossly misleading. Doing so shifts responsibility away from those who are committing the crimes and avoids the questions of personal accountability and criminal behavior,” he stated.

“Edina police publicly acknowledge Somali teens and young adults have been targets of and/or have had some level of responsibility for recent shootings. These incidents are consistent with a broader pattern of gang violence, as noted by Chief Milborn, mr. Rolson, and others, shots fired at Anci Park, OLG, and the Eden Prairie Homecoming game the other night are just scratching the surface of the problem. Semantics aside, we have a gang problem,” he went on.

“There’s clearly a youth component from Somali youth as part of that, so call it what it is, and deal with it. So, my questions are, and I don’t necessarily expect an answer now. Where is the public demand for answers from the Hampton County attorney, specifically the leader of that group, the judges, and others whose decisions determine what happens with violent offenders? Where is the outrage, right? They failed us. They need to be held accountable, right? But that’s not enough. Edina needs to examine our own priorities, because you must answer for the decisions you’ve made. When gunfire happened at Ansi Park, the city’s response was talk about having a meeting with Somali community leaders and mentioning a new soccer program, really, I mean, who are the supposed leaders? Which was asked earlier. Who do they represent, and what accountability has this produced?” he said.

“Right, residents see a ton of energy devoted to proclamations while we sit here discussing yet another Somali shooting. We don’t need more virtue signaling, yard signs, DEI initiatives, or community conversations that lead to nowhere. Right? We need competent government, accountability, and safe neighborhoods. So there’s four actions moving forward. One, we need to demand public accountability, not only from yourselves, but from the Hennepin County Attorney, judges, and others who refuse violent offenders, or refuse to keep violent offenders off our streets,” he added.

“Two, we need to aggressively enforce existing laws against gangs, violence, and public disorderly behavior. And when juveniles are involved, hold the parents accountable when it’s legally appropriate. Three, as mentioned before, engage the school board to establish zero tolerance for non-resident disruptors in our schools, that is an issue,” he continued.

“Priorities: We need to prioritize our safety over your ideology. Don’t allow the fear of social or political friction to prevent you from addressing problems residents see with our own eyes. What we tolerate in our presence becomes the standard. Doing is greater than talking. We don’t need more politicians, apologists, or ideologues. What we need is leadership and conviction. Government’s first responsibility is to protect its citizens. We need to start acting like it,” he finished.
