President Donald Trump fiercely pushed back against a journalist’s question pertaining to the possibility of an apology to Pope Leo XIV after a viral social media post absolutely skewered the woke pontiff for being, among other things, weak on crime and being against the U.S.’s efforts to keep Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
For context, the Pope has been vocal in his opposition to America’s military presence in the Middle East, pretending war is never acceptable while ignoring the fact that while he may want peace, Iran certainly doesn’t. “Would you imagine what a world without wars would be like, a world without the terror of approaching explosions, without rocket alarms shattering the silence of the night? Please join me this month in prayer for disarmament and peace, let’s pray and share with others,” the woke Pope naively stated in a video that got roundly blasted on X.
In response, Trump unleashed on the first American Pope in a scathing Truth Social post. “Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy…I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon. I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our Country,” his post said.
Continuing later on, he added: “Unfortunately, Leo’s Weak on Crime, Weak on Nuclear Weapons, does not sit well with me, nor does the fact that he meets with Obama Sympathizers like David Axelrod, a LOSER from the Left, who is one of those who wanted churchgoers and clerics to be arrested.”
“Leo should get his act together as Pope, use Common Sense, stop catering to the Radical Left, and focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician. It’s hurting him very badly and, more importantly, it’s hurting the Catholic Church!” Trump’s fiery post concluded.
So when asked about the animus between the two parties, the president remained steadfast in his opposition to the misguided Holy See and flat out said there would be no apology coming because none was warranted.
“No, I don’t,” he said curtly, interrupting the journalist’s question, “because Pope Leo said things that are wrong. He was very much against what I’m doing with with regard to Iran, and you cannot have a nuclear Iran. Pope Leo would not be happy with the end result. You have hundreds of millions of people dead, and it’s not going to happen. So I can’t, I think he’s very weak on crime and other things. So I’m not, I mean, he went public. I’m just responding to Pope Leo.”
“And you know, his brother is a big Maga person, and he’s a great guy. Lewis and I said, I like Louis better than I like the Pope. Now you have to have law and order in our country, and that’s what we have. Now we have the lowest crime numbers we’ve had in a long time, despite the fact that many criminals were allowed into our country, but we’ve gotten a lot of them out who’ve done a great job on crime. So we have the lowest murder rate in 125 years since 1900 the lowest murder rate,” he went on.
“So we believe strongly in law and order. And he, he seemed to have a problem with that, so there’s nothing to apologize for. He’s wrong. And the other thing is, he didn’t like what we’re doing with respect to Iran, but Iran is a wants to be a nuclear nation so they can exterminate the world. Not going to happen,” he finished.
